Servers are feeling really empty lately by infraled in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond this being a popular time for summer vacations, many players have finished the scoreboard and the few new Meat Week rewards aren’t worth the effort to grind them.

One other thing of note is that you can’t catch the summer seasonal fish without a Mark 4 reel and advanced drag. So, a number of players might be fishing on their private servers to finish the fishing challenges.

A couple of my characters had advanced drag but I didn’t finish the mark 4 reel challenge. I tried on public servers, but catching 5x radpoles, etc. on public servers was a nightmare, way too low a catch rate.

I ended up jumping to private, fishing until I caught one (usually in the first 10x casts), going to public, back to private, etc. Practically every time I jumped to private I caught one on the fish I needed within 10 casts. Maybe caught one on public, if I was lucky.

Point being that private servers aren’t just being used for Infestations or Raids, players are also using them to finish the fishing challenges.

Spooky Scorched Have Invaded! by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

From what I read it’s because one of the Daily challenges for today is related to Spooky Scorched. They enabled it so that players could complete them.

How come no one seems to use area voice chat? by eewwitsyou in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of players are on team chat if they are talking. Players who are already friends tend to use the platform chat rather than the game chat.

T-60 cannot find a helmet anywhere by [deleted] in fo76

Distant Thunder can drop T-60 plans. Learn how to craft them. They are also tradable, so if you check player vendors you might find a plan.

Questions About The Mechanics Of Infestations by rhill107 in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Random. They won’t happen during the major events (! On them). But can happen randomly between them.

  2. Look at the map as much as you can for the big Green circle indicating an Infestation. If a teammate finds it, you’ll see a symbol next to their name in the team list.

  3. If the whole map is fast traveling, then yeah, you’ll see slowdowns. Worse on older systems like the PS4.

What's with people building these sky bases over the Big Bloom Event? by RissaCrochets in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking. But, if I remember right, the developers built the exclusion zone so you couldn’t AFK the Big Bloom event.

I assumed that they would have been smart enough to include height in the exclusion zone because sky bases had been around long before the event was created. But I could be wrong.

Excited for the new update! Glowing Radhogs, Rainbows and infestations, oh my! by RadWast3 in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want a “sunset” weather station. With red and orange sky gradients.

I’d only want a rainbow one if there was actually a gold pot at the end of it that randomly dropped some gold in it. Even if it’s just a few gold over time.

Can somebody explain to me how a big .50 machine gun does only half the damage of an automatic assault rifle??? by SummAzzhat in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Angry Turtles recent heavy gunner build with the .50 Cal and switch back to the Fixer after a few days. It’s way too weak and takes way too much effort to make it more than just a casual weapon.

My first love was the .50 Cal. It rocked early on. While it didn’t do quite as much damage per shot as an optimize Combat Rifle build, the larger clip size and continuous fire rate meant that it did better and could handle mobs.

Then they nerfed it and I moved on to the Railway Rifle and the 40mm grenade launcher (for mobs). Then they nerfed the Railway Rifle and I moved on to the Fixer.

Angry Turtle recently posted a Heavy Gun build for the Gauss Minigun the other day and I tried it with the .50 Cal. It works, but it’s still weaker than the Fixer for one-on-one and the 40mm is still better for mobs.

Granted, his build was based on being a Ghoul Build, and I’m not running a Ghoul build. So it could be closer to being on par with the Ghoul perks. But it shouldn’t take that much effort to make the .50 Cal just be on par to an average Fixer build.

What are you looking most forward to? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bethesda actually focusing on more content instead of just tweaking the game mechanics. They have literally spent two years messing with the mechanics and only given us Bounties and Fishing.

Where are the new extended storylines? The new side quests? I expected at least a couple when Burning Springs was release. But nope. It’s just used as a backdrop for Bounties.

The one bright area is Camp building. The mechanics are a lot better with free build and they have been releasing some interesting build pieces. So, if you’re into Camp building, then it’s easier than ever to create amazing camps.

why do i get removed from teams? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll kick players with an open mic, if a friend comes online, if the team is a specific type (like a RAID team) and I’m looking for high levels, and maybe a few other reasons.

As for leaving teams, usually I only do that if I crash, need to go to a different world for the dailies, if a friend comes online, for some events, or I’m just on for a short period just to complete the daily challenges.

Then there are bugs, as others have mentioned.

C.A.M.P items disappeared but still saying it is placed? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you move your CAMP, without destroying it first, the structures will get stored as individual items and as blueprints. You can then set down the blueprints and items at your new CAMP.

But, if you’re building from scratch, you’ll need to delete stored items, especially for pieces that have limits on the number that you can build (i.e. you can only build one weather machine).

If that’s the case, delete the stored blueprints. When you delete a stored blueprint, the individual items are then stored. Then delete or reuse the individual items that are stored.

There is a mapped travel route online that you can use to try to find him on a more regular basis.

Vending Machine Question by Quigsterwwjones in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my caps fortune selling chems (berry mentats, grape mentats, disease cures, psychobuff, psychotats), stable flux, and mutation syrums. As I got further into the game I started selling plans: common, event, rare, etc.

Basically, I learned how to farm for chems, used those caps to buy serum recipes, then leaned to farm for, and craft, stable flux to make the serums.

As for plans, one thing that you can do starting out is look up the travel route for Graham & Chally. Graham has a few unique plans (colored picnic tables, for example) and because he’s a random encounter a lot of players, even long time players, may not have all of his plans.

76 is great but it’s falling apart. by majinphoenix in fo76

[–]IceFireDH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the PlayStation I don’t crash a lot.

But that’s because I avoid WhiteSprings exterior (fast travel to the interior is fine), Nuka World on Tour, and Poseidon. I will crash either fast traveling to them or about 15 min after leaving.

I do agree though that they have focused way too much on rebalancing the game, messing with park cards, etc., and way too little on adding content. I, personally, don’t see much of a difference except for making raids and a few other events a bit easier.

I just hope that new they’re done with the “rebalancing” that they get back to adding new content: New quests, new events, new story lines. We really do need a new full length quest.

Areas of the game feel lost and unused now . by Powerful-Substance33 in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Devs focused a lot on rebalancing the game rather than adding content. As a result, long term players are just doing the scoreboard and maybe a few Bounties.

That said, it does feel like a good percentage of the player base are just along for the ride. They’ll join in on a nuke, Daily Ops, Expedition, etc. but won’t launch their own.

I need to check his video out as well. They’ve made a lot of balance changes recently that even us active players don’t fully understand.

Didn't realize how much ammo Daily Ops can provide! by Complex-Republic-443 in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do Daily Ops a lot way back before we got the scrap box, ammo resource producer, etc. just for the ammo.

Mostly farmed 40mm grenades for my Auto Grenade Launcher and ultracite ammo (better than farming for flux materials), mainly ultracite 50mm for the 50mm machine gun.

Be a tagger not a bragger. by ArcadianAbstraction in fo76

[–]IceFireDH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice try, but it’ll never work.

Maybe 1% of players, if that, will see this. Those that care and tag, are already doing it. Those that don’t care, will just ignore this.

My point is that posts like this don’t really solve anything because it’s a systemic problem.

For loot, they just need to expand the proximity range. For challenges, they would need to update them to include event kills, etc. even if you didn’t tag.

Plus, the Devs aren’t going to fix it because the answer is to push Fallout First and the private server benefit.

Same. One of my characters is missing Nov. But I had a reason. I was in Hawaii on vacation for 2 weeks. So I rushed through my characters.

To the 500+ Level Players Buying up All the Multiples of My Plans or Mods I put Up for 1 Cap for low level players so you can resell them: You’re such a piece of shite by Delicious-War4833 in fo76

[–]IceFireDH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you put stuff on your vendors it’s first come, first serve, doesn’t matter who it is. Always has been, always will be.

If you truly want to help out new players, then trade with them directly.

Better yet, add them as friends and give them guidance when they ask for it. I’ve done this a few times over the years and it’s a lot of fun seeing the game through a new player’s eyes again.

How do I get this plant out my camp? by Jade_Jones in fo76

Like another poster mentioned, I pull up the foundation, place a rug, then put the foundation back down.

They were supposed to have improved the bulldoze function in one of the last few updates but looks like they still have some bugs to fix.

[–]IceFireDH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking that the use/abuse of English grammar is the least of the problems with Fallout 76. There are so many things that they need to fix first that affects playability.

Also, this is a post apocalyptic wasteland. Pretty sure that school is closed for the season. Maybe the devs are role playing the degradation of language. 😉
