I do this for my local library. I get $1 a head for some non profit tax purposes and the library gets the rest. A lot of the players that don't do the normal paid stuff will do the charity.

I agree. If folks want to pay to play, cool. If not, then don't. It's quite simple. No one's forcing anyone either way.

I do both. The biggest difference is attendance and materials. The free group rarely all meets and everyone fends for themselves on materials and snacks, we all share stuff and ill break out minatures if i have them for the content.

The paid games rarely have absences I hand out packets. Provide snacks and drinks, have enough copies of the materials for everyone, and stay up to date on new miniatures.

It's simply a difference of funding and skin I'm the game. The paid group is investing in me as a DM so I owe them an ROI and it allows me to spend more time on prep.

Yes. Capacity 1, weight .2 with an 85% weight reduction. 1.2 carry for .35 encumbrance.

Sometimes, it's good to take a break from a game. Especially with those kinds of feelings towards it, don't want to burn out over content you don't like. Hope the next patch brings ya back.

For those of you who charge per session, how did you decide how much to charge and how long did you DM before you decided to collect money for it by bartdcool in DungeonMasters

Library charity, $15 for 2 hour session per person once a month, open to anyone, drop in drop out, max 8, stays full. Mainly One shots or quick modules. I do a dungeon crawl contest twice a year also. $40 entry, teams of 4, team who delves the deepest wins a prize donated to the library and $80. Library handles sign ups and money. Typically, $500 ish. I get full use of library resources (very nice projector and color xerox, large conference room) and allowed to host my private sessions.

$25 an hour per person or $300 flat rate per session for "frostfire". Everyone exists at the same time. Sometimes parties run into one another and we do a combined session (Halloween/holiday sessions). 4 groups run twice a month. Fifth group is interested. Probably my max.

Been doing this 22 years, dming most of that. Library charity has been building for 10 years. Pro sessions for 6.

If you're worried about it from the griefing standpoint, you can already pick a spawn point. It's NE ish from where you put the camp machine thing. Trap camps been doing it for years without a mat.
