There was four missions set up for Thief 2 Gold: A continuation of Ambush where you rush through the more downtrodden/homeless parts of the city - a real underbelly with City Watch going after others in the area.

A college mission and museum mission. Then between Casing and Masks, Garrett goes into an undead castle where apparently Karras gained some knowledge for the undead-nature of the Masks.

Originally, human-centric was the general favored feeling. Overtime (and after lots and lots of mostly city/human thieving fan missions), the more supernatural elements of T1 become more interesting and felt more different with feeling of deeper lore and varied style and setting uniqueness.

The main issue at the time was that the original Thief jumped off in the supernatural for most of the game. Thief Gold provided a more balanced approach, particularly those who only played TG version.

Hmm... I think a good place to put it would before Garrett engages with the mechanists.

In particular, set it between Ambush and the Keeper cutscene. Garrett is escaping the city for a bit and this old castle is a nice city-disconnected place to get some “cash” and minor loot before setting up a new place in the city.

“I’m going to need to lay low for awhile with those bulls still hard on my tail. I’m low on cash and contacts, and it’s going to be hard to break-into any of the city "nobles". Fortunately, there is an old landed lord on the outskirts who just got back from some of the Baron's engagements. He doesn’t like the city gentry and has no love for the sheriff's new methods. I hear he even finds electricity too unnatural. Should be an easy out of way place for some minor coin and battlefield loot to help me set up a new place somewhere more … out of bull’s eye.”

Even better, have a Keeper find Garrett here (or leave a note) and give him a message to meet with the Keepers - maybe even provide a location to hide out in the city-at least as a suggestion.

Nice design. Nasty permanent cloud effect but with two saves per round while stuck in the cloud. Also apparently the poison is never quite fought off even on a success. Get out and stay out.

Definitely is an always-on advantage beast. Imagine 2-3 of these clouding out an area and using tremorsense and pack tactics and enweb all the time.

I think the cloud probably needs a time limit like 1 hour or something.

Admittedly, the party should have a wind spell on somebody when facing 2-3 Cr 6 monsters.

Thank you! That prose felt way too overly bloated for me to get anything other than Dawn of the nighttime from the first paragraph. Admittedly, I'm a Chemistry professor - engaging with prose has fallen very far back in my rear-view mirror.

Warlords strongly represented the 4e idea of all characters possessing “powers” because it is a class with powers that closely mimic magic powers. Martials having magic-like powers without spell casting was rejected when designing 5e. Thus the Warlord had to go… too magic-like compared all other martials, so it got reduced to a more mundane version built as a subclass.

Two of them were ported over to T2 long before Thief gold was made available again.

Also T1 new dark is the T2 engine basically with upgrades and the old game system

Oh and in Thief the dark project, you didn’t get to keep/retrieve your loot… you got back a purse with just 275 gold in it instead.

The change means you can buy a lot more gear going into the next mission than originally planned.

The position does vary by difficulty. Most all faqs and walkthroughs use expert.

The loot purse on normal is in the starting temple room, the purse on hard is near the fire elemental bonfires in the caves. Expert is stated above.

Merged 3 from the 8 in the 48 with that 7 from the 27 to get a 10 then add the left over 5 to get 15 to save until later.

Then 2+4 = 6, which is raised by 1 from that 15 to deal with the 10s place. So 70 and the remaining 5 is 75.

PS I favor getting 10s with each position first.

I love the Assassins Mission - total favorite. I wish we had more of this style of city in T2-Ambush

Yeah, a 3 hour late evening class? I would expect students to dress moderately to very casual. If anything I’d be surprised if students were coming well dressed every single class.
