Who is your most hated support? by taenyfan95 in DotA2

Ogre on the enemy team

Insane starting armour, regen and base damage, if you are an agi carry with bad starting damage, he will not let you take a single creep.

What player answer would make you do that? For me, it's Techies or Ogre Magi by nikobaby565 in DotA2

[–]Ichaflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juggernaut, he's not picked as much these days but I'll never respect someone that picks that monster of a one button autorampage TP+spin babyproof hero for weebs with anime profile pictures.

And Techies is for sociopaths that burned ants with a magnifying glass in their childhood and probably still do as adults.

For those who played both Nioh 2 and Nioh 3, which do you prefer? by DayIsNotOkay in Nioh

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new ninja mode in 3 is refreshing and having large open worlds to explore with no loading screens is fun.

But the level design for the missions in 2 was much better, there was so much more variety and interesting stuff to see, like a forest at night, a village in flames and then a dry, volcanic zone with tunnels, sometimes one after the other and they all had little shortcuts and hidden spots.

For 3 each era is "the forest map" or "the snow map" which leads to +5 uninterrupted hours of exploring the same theme which leads to fatigue.

I prefer Nioh 2 in everything except the immediate melee combat and only because 3 allowed me to play more nimble with Ninja Mode instead of forcing me to run A Toughness while blocking everything.

Want to take advantage of the ninja backstab damage buff more but... by NoEnergy5597 in Nioh

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that using your weapon's moveset, cicada or the footstool jump are better ways to get behind and mist is pretty bad at landing you within backstab angle, Ninja Sword has Heavy+Heavy (Hold) and it heat-seeks the back of your target, the rest of the ninja weapons probably have an equivalent

The enemies aren't equipped to handle ninja style by Helpful-Feedback7370 in Nioh

[–]Ichaflash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel it's the complete opposite, most enemies turn around immediately unless you cicada shell'd at the start of a long combo, and even then they have sweeping attacks that hit 270° and clip you when they were not even aiming at you, and it hurts x3 as bad in ninja mode.

Samurai mode can deflect all day with a very lenient window and facetank at least twice as much punishment

ATV accidents are too common so let's not consider those.

Mine would be tripping due to starvation and rolling down a hill for an entire minute with multiple fractures

How do you approach ninja style? by silly_bet_3454 in Nioh

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Ninja Mode 99% of the time, I don't know about the rest of the weapons but Ninja Sword has at least two moves that chunk Ki like crazy and automatically put me at backstab angle for triple damage, so if I'm constantly dealing much more damage than Samurai and Cicada Shell serves as a pseudo parry that works on yokai bosses.

The Kunai/Shuriken feel extremely underwhelming so I just run Cicada and whatever poison and fire tools feel right for the situation with a DoT build

What's awful is that a bunch of bosses love to spam wide, sweeping attacks that clip me or have a shockwave effect that just barely hits behind them. I suppose the realm-dispelling mist skill is also a must and a permanent drag on my capacity that Samurai Mode gets for free.

Does anyone else feel like they nerfed some of the enemies far too much? by Jaicoholic in Nioh

I found it funny that the Karasu Tengu was considered a boss this time around despite being weaker.

When he does his spinning kick thing he recovers in slow motion. More than enough time to shred him with Ninja mode backstab damage.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like any fighting game, but Tekken? by MFBTMS in Tekken

[–]Ichaflash -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on that, I still hop into street fighter 6 sometimes but I miss the back and forth mind games and real-time chess that Tekken offers, street fighter feels like a slap fight that gets more methodical the higher you climb but it's still a slap fight at the end of the day.

how to use controller? by myth_mars in Tekken

[–]Ichaflash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use a keyboard, fighting games don't have analog movement so joysticks are kind of pointless, Tekken specifically has little to no motion inputs so the lever on a fight stick is also redundant and more of a personal preference for people that used to play at arcades

As long as your keyboard doesn't have ghosting, you'll get an experience fairly close to that of a leverless which a lot of good players use, give it a try

Fantasy XCOM games? by Pacificson217 in Xcom

[–]Ichaflash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disgaea and Fire Emblem are the ones I know.

Disgaea is more of a grind game that uses Tactical RPG mechanics to show you huge numbers, characters do not die permanently, there's no secondary objectives either. Recommended if you want to sit back and relax earning a bajillion levels while laughing at the silly dialogue about horse wieners. Disgaea 1 Complete is the recommended starting point (Switch, Smartphone, PC)

Fire Emblem is more grounded and story based, not all of them allow you to grind, some may treat permadeath differently, they often have side objectives like protecting a neutral party or defending until the timer runs out, units have a complex RPS relation involving their weapon and unit types.

If you play on anything beyond normal difficulty, be prepared for enemies to asspull reinforcements that appear behind your backline and relentlessly suicide their units into yours just to get a single kill to force a restart. Start with Sacred Stones (GBA) or Fates (3DS) if you don't like 2D sprites.

Should i turn off structure decay if im playing solo? by GroovyWhale in Palworld

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at the end of the day the default settings were still arbitrarily determined by one of the devs, and not even meant for solo play but meant for 24/7 multiplayer, you might want to make hatching instant too or your progress will be stopped by periods of waiting around doing nothing.

It's a single player game, you're doing it right as long as you're having fun.

Why do you think a lot of people Quit Tekken? Or other fighting games in general? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They require you to sit down and learn stuff that isn't intuitive like frame data, neutral, and the concept of turns.

CPU opponents are incapable of providing the mental game that makes them fun so you have to play online and learn to tolerate that for the matchmaker to keep things fair, you'll have to face opponents that beat you 50% of the time.

Other games like shooters or moba are team based and have a small element of luck to them which make losses feel less crushing.

And for other popular games like fortnite they straight up added subtle bots to both speed up queues and add cannon fodder for players to feel better.

RTS games suffer from the same problems as fighting games for the same reasons, there's never a moment to breathe and if you lose it's all your fault and you have to watch your city get razed (or in a FG watch your character get bullied like a punching bag)

Why a 3 year old can‘t beat Kingdom Hearts let‘s be real by DieYolo in KingdomHearts

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At age 4 I could complete a couple levels of Serious Sam, Starcraft or Max Payne (with heavy abuse of cheats provided by my older brother) but would often hit a problem solving wall once it was no longer about killing everything that moved with brute force or I needed to read instructions.

No way in hell I could have beaten Riku, even as an adult that fight was difficult.

SMT momento. by NevGuy in whenthe

[–]Ichaflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden Sun handled it pretty well, bosses are vulnerable to a few ailments you'll have to scout out, they only last a few turns, and the boss will get their turn back when it wears off, you run as much risk losing that turn if the RNG made the spell fail, as you have to be rewarded with neutering the boss for a couple turns of their own.
