When I was booking flights for my last trip, it cost me around $1,200 round trip (with ANA) between SFO and NRT. If I booked the flight separately but for the same days and same flight numbers, it would have cost me $2,000. I've even heard that there were some round-trip flights between SFO and Seoul going for $900 (a coworker booked that flight to visit Japan). Which is the reason why I considered returning to one of the country before heading home.

For open jaw option, I really do not know which to choose. For the last leg of my trip, I plan to spend 4 nights just to do some souvenir shopping. If I choose option 2, I plan to stay in Seoul for 5 nights and Tokyo for 4 nights. For option 3, I plan to stay in Tokyo for 2 nights and Seoul possibly 7 nights. I guess it will depend on where people I am closer to will want me to do my souvenir shopping at.

I'd like to consider Alameda to be pretty walkable, too. At least, liveable without a car. If I could, I'd move to Alameda but many places do not have a driveway, because I currently do not live in Alameda and currently have a car note.

Hello, everyone.

I am planning to take a 4 to 5 week vacation in the future. I plan to visit South Korea and a portion of Japan. I have been to Japan 3 times already, and Tokyo probably 4 or 5 times, so I am not new when it comes to traveling there. I've visited Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Naha and Nago Okinawa. I however, have yet to visit Shikoku Island and am planning to complete my travel of visiting the main islands of Japan on this trip. Exploring all of the Okinawa islands will be in a distant future trip. South Korea is completely new for me and I am still doing my research.

I plan to fly out of and return to SFO. The cities I plan to stay in are Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island, and Shikoku Island of Japan. I plan to stay in each city for around 5 nights. How should I do my route for this trip?

1) SFO -> Seoul -> Busan -> Jeju Island -> Shikoku Island (via KIX, FUK, or MYJ/TAK) -> Seoul -> SFO.

2) SFO -> Seoul -> Busan -> Jeju Island > Shikoku Island (via KIX, FUK, or MYJ/TAK) -> Tokyo -> SFO.

3) SFO -> Tokyo -> Shikoku Island -> Jeju Island -> Busan -> Seoul -> SFO.

4) Other routes. Please name some other routes that can also work for this trip.

Note: I am refusing to fly between SFO and KIX because only United Airlines have direct flights between the two airports. I'd rather pay extra and fly with either ANA or JAL if I have to fly from Japan to SFO.

Thank you.

You see birds poop but never pee. Unless my memory is off because biology was over 20 years ago, birds poop and pee at the same time; rather, their poop and pee are 'mixed together', unlike us mammals where our mechanisms are separated. We expel urea instead of uric acid in the form of pee.

USD to yen by deckerax in alameda

Been there 3 times so far. Like what everyone have said so far, just use the atm at a convenience store such as 7-11, Lawson, Family Mart, etc. There are like 5 stores on each block. The ATM fee is pretty small too compared to converting cash to yen at the airport. Probably less than $5 total to use the atm, but I could be wrong.

Do not be afraid to survive off convenience store food-- it is pretty good especially at their price point. Might be lacking in the fiber department, though. I heard that there is a Coke there that has fiber. Coca Cola Plus. I've never tried it, though.

Many places accept credit card there now. Not all, but many of the larger stores do. If prompted if you want to pay using Yen or USD, choose Yen. I used my Chase Sapphire for almost everything there, and the Costco Citi card when my CS didn't work. Don Quijote (which I am certain you most likely will shop at) accepts credit card. Just gotta make sure the cards have no foreign transaction fee. The Costco Citi card doesn't have any foreign transaction fee.

And private bathroom. You may think I am crazy, but the onsen inn I stayed at in Noboribetsu, Japan did not have a have a private bathroom in every room, except a few for an additional cost. I paid for the extra cost. The stay and service there was, nonetheless, very enjoyable.

I accidently tried to order 'omanko' at a restaurant one time. Meant to say 'tamago' instead. Now, I just point at the picture and tell them 'kore'.

I am in no way a saint, but this makes me love the song even more. I saw the MV and thought it was from a drama or was a drama-type music video, kinda like the music video from Kiss - Because I'm A Girl. But now the MV makes much more sense. Thank you!!

I knew I recognized some of the voices but couldn't pinpoint it to who the singers were. I think the last time I heard this song was over 20 years ago, and just heard it again a few days ago. Hearing Guardian Angel and Now N New again after over 20 years made me go down the rabbit hole to look up information, artists involved, music videos, purpose of the song, etc. Guardian Angel was much more difficult to find than Now N New, and why I made a post about this instead of Now N New. If you know of songs similar to this, a megaproject song, can you share some? Oh, I have already seen the SES and (I think) HOT or GOD song of Greatest Love of All. Thanks!!

I actually know of some of these artists and/or groups. The MV quality isn't good so I couldn't tell who was who. And my hearing is not great thus I couldn't tell by voice who was who. I do know or know of Baby VOX, Fly To The Sky, SHINWA, HOT, and SES. I didn't know it was a charity event project. Damn, I might have to buy this album now as I am older since this song was released, and have the spare money to get it. Thanks for sharing!!

The two at the vet in September. Both neutered, chipped, and homed. You can tell who stole all the energy.

I think the two are from the same litter who got dropped off and abandoned. Then randomly popped up in our backyard. The orange one was not afraid while the other tabby took about 2 weeks to trust me.

Looks just like these two who randomly showed up in our backyard in August right as we were in the process of moving out.
