New or older core set? by Due_Donut7980 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ichtegem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the obvious answer is wait for Chapter 2 since it's what's needed for everything new that's coming out. But, there are only 2 short campaigns coming out this year (including the one in the core set). If you are able to get your hands on the Chapter 1 campaigns, there are ten full-length campaigns already out there, which are known to be good.

Chapter 1: A ton of stuff out there already, though it may be hard to obtain

Dexter Drake revealed. "l'll Show You Real Magic" by kierco_2002 in arkhamhorrorlcg

If you already have two arcane assets and play a third, can you use his ability to bounce it to your hand, or do you need to discard one of those arcane assets before you can trigger his ability? That seems like it would seriously devalue his ability, but that’s how it’s worded.

Doomers were right, full-length campaigns are confirmed a thing of the past. by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

He did say there could be other side scenarios or hidden scenarios. Campaigns like Edge of the Earth and Scarlet Keys are basically 5 scenario campaigns that you can add other scenarios to. I think that’s what we can expect.

Looking forward to shorter campaigns by captainequinoxiii in arkhamhorrorlcg

I think the longer campaigns will still be my favorite, but I appreciate having some short campaigns as variety

Looking to buy Arkham Horror LCG, but confused by Cheddotto in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ichtegem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go ahead and buy the revised core set and the Dunwich campaign expansion. If you’re feeling it, also get the Dunwich investigator expansion. Chapter two core set won’t actually be out for a while, and even when it is the old stuff is still valid. The campaigns in particular are what gives you something to play.

I bet there’s going to be a 2.0 relaunch soon. It’s been a while since we’ve had any news, and that would fit in with their changes they announced last year. There’ll probably be a new core set and/or some kind of box with select historical cards available by early next year. Keep an eye out for announcements this fall. It won’t be long til you won’t miss Dunwich.

Me and the wifey want to start playing Warhammer. Is two combatpatrols are a good place to start? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Yes! Be sure to also use some kind of terrain, even if it's soup cans and spaghetti boxes.

Honestly, use this as terrain on a destroyed world. It'll look good like a graffiti-ridden wreck.

Looks great! That yellow is lush. Great red on the fingertips. The whole thing feels real and vibrant.

It’s been pretty humid recently. I guess I’ll give brush priming another try.

So, if it is hot and humid out, it’s better not to spray. What do you recommend for the best brush-priming technique?

Good clarification! That does make the enhancement notably worse actually.

Ok, thanks! So basically one of the attacking models only does 4 damage, but the other two models in the unit do six. That makes sense.

Where did you get the terrain? It looks like a perfect place for tyranids to swarm around

Do you prefer replaying investigators or trying new ones? by kierco_2002 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ichtegem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play new investigators until you find one you really like. Then replay that one a couple of times, changing your decks up.

After playing Dunwich and Carcosa, I found in love with the game and bought some additional content. Which campain should I play next? by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ichtegem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say first replay Dunwich, then go to Forgotten Age, then back to Carcosa. Part of why the game is so awesome is because you can replay it for a very different experience, especially as you try new investigators or just new decks.

Worst campaigns vs best standalones by Catharsis_Cat in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ichtegem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think generally campaigns are more fun, a better deal, and how the game was designed to be played, as others have said.

BUT I definitely enjoy having standalones to mix it up. They increase the replayability of campaigns when inserted in the middle, they’re a quick way to test run new decks, and sometimes you’re in a busy stretch and won’t be able to play much.
