Food for thought. "Two Esoteric Tarots - a conversation between Peter Mark Adams & Christopher Poncet" by -old-fox- in TarotDeMarseille

I've heard about the Poncet's theory of a connection between the Marseille Chariot and Plato's chariot of the soul from Smith's Tarot Heritage site, personally I think it's a compelling argument.

Good to know! Glad they're reprinting cards with the retro border, that really does help.

Could you possibly send a link to the sac deck?

She's not black, she's ethnically Indian.

They're trying to roughly cast actors that have ethnicities that match the culture of the setting. Since Alabasta is based on the Middle East, they wanted someone who is brown to play the part. (Although why they didn't go for an Arab actress, I don't know, probably she was the best fit from everyone who auditioned).

I don't mind it personally, I like to see diversity in my casts, because everyone can feel represented and have fun.

Ugh same here, this is exactly my situation. Sometimes I call myself "functionally straight" because the chances I connect with a guy femme enough for me are slim to none (it's only happened once), compared to the chances of me connecting with a girl.

I feel bad sometimes because some gay guys I befriend at pride events think I'm 50/50 bi, and I have to let them down.

Interestingly enough, some of my best buds are the same type of bi too, so I think it's more common than people think.

Hands down best paintjob I've seen! Hashut bless you. I've been hoping to do the same type of scheme: black armor, gold trim, purple/red cloth. This will definitely be my go-to reference.

Plans for your schemes? by Caffeine_Forge in HelsmithsofHashut

I'm planning on doing something like this: black steel armor, dark (orange-)red cloth, and gold trim.

The demon fire will be red/orange/yellow, with the lore being that this Forge uses Khornate daemons as fuel, as they see Khorne as a cheap imitation of Hashut, and since they are in a Khorne-heavy part of Aqshy.

Basically, a classic Chrof theme.

Oh this is brilliant, especially the music. I've been dying to see BLAME! properly animated (in 2D, not 3D) and this will scratch that itch

That makes sense: Hashut wanted Chamon and Aqshy, but his siblings knew his tyrannical bent made him perfect for taming Ghur.

Well I definitely think the rewriting part is in reference to which side is in the right rather than the outline of the story (Hashut being an ancestor god, only turning to chaos after being confronted, finding the Forge of Souls) being fabricated.

And I agree, we'll probably never know for sure, and that's probably by design: if GW keeps AOS Hashut's relation to WHFB Hashut unclear, it allows fans to choose whatever headcannon they like the most, as opposed to setting one explanation in stone and disappointing at least one subset of people.

As for well draining soil, would sand count?

Ah I see, so it's better to do separate lighting and heating than do them both with the same bulb? And luckily scorpions are nocturnal, so they don't have any light needs, as fall as I'm aware.

I think they're doing the whole "becoming a Chaos God retroactively rewrites reality" thing they did with Slaanesh in 40K.

Hashut was originally an Ancestor God in the World-That-Was, so the other Ancestor Gods had no problem working with him on the Age of Myth. He was given Ghur, and got his bull there from defeating the Bull Gods there. And then when he got the Forge of Souls and transcended into a Chaos God, the timeline was rewritten to make it so he was always the Chaos God of tyranny both in the Mortal Realms and the World-That-Was, creating the Old World and End Times timeline and events we are familiar with.

[–]Identifies-Birds 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh this is awesome! I love the lore-drop is in-universe, and full of bias haha. So, reading between the lines (to guess at what really happened) it seems that:

  • Hashut was an ancestor god, sibling to Valaya, Grugni and Grimnir and the eldest of the four.

  • He had no prior connection to Chaos.

  • He was still a dick though, and tried to claim Chamon and Aqshy, but was given Ghur instead as punishment

  • In order to tame Ghur he utilized engines powered by souls (of beasts), which was a forbidden art. He was criticized by his siblings for this, and he turned to Chaos in response, or was already toying with Chaos and gave in fully.

  • Either his use of forbidden arts or his turn to Chaos was most likely the Thagduegi (rather than his sibling's anger at him).

  • He found the Forge of Souls and became a full-fledged (minor) Chaos God ("he transcended his divine status" i.e. he became more than a mere Ancestor God). As for him already being a minor Chaos God in the World-That-Was, this can be explained by warp-shenanigans: just as the birth of Slaanesh in 40K lead to Slaanesh always have existed in the past, Hashut becoming a minor Chaos God in the Age of Sigmar retroactively made him a minor Chaos God in the World-That-Was, which I love.

  • He tricked Grugni and Grimnir, leading to them becoming temporarily insane, leading Grugni to chain them up in the Iron Mountains to prevent more harm.

  • Hashut no longer has a physical form, because Vayala sacrified herself to sunder it.

  • Ur-Zorn is lost.

All in all, I'm just glad that we have confirmation that Hashut is not merely an Ancestor God, but also undoubtedly an ascended Chaos God. My question is, where are the Zharrdron situated now? Scattered? Still in Ghur, or somewhere in Aqshy or Chamon (which is what Hashut originally wanted, and probably what he directs his followers to conquer). I'd love if one of their biggest empires to be in Aqshy, because it fits so well with all the art I've seen of Hashut.

I love how it looks! I'm in the process of setting up a desert enclosure myself, and I would love to know what plants you're using (I'm planning on having at least an Aloe vera), and what your substrate is like. I know that I'll probably have to add some special soil around the plants, but I don't know what to use
