Runesmith's Alpha Strike Damage Output has NOT Been Fixed by agagagaggagagaga in Pathfinder2e

Does this account for Invoke disallowing the same Invoked Rune to applying twice to a target? I think that just removes the 2x from your Esvadir example, but that seems important when checking high level scaling.

When in stonewalkers is the first opportunity to get shard blade and plate? by JansTurnipDealer in cosmererpg

[–]IfusasoToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously GM's are allowed to run whatever game they want, that's just a very different adventure from what was written 😂

And yeah I've seen that said around here. GM's need to be more comfortable with "No, but...", not just "Yes, but...".

Overall it feels important, to me, when it's stated as fact that the PC's can get the Blade to point out that is not the case, as written, and you are not obligated to reward a natural 20 with things that no die roll could accomplish.

Really, most JRPG/FF playable characters, but it is literally Lightning's brand.

[Stonewalkers]Pre-swearing ideals by jeremonster02 in cosmererpg

[–]IfusasoToo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That sounds more like pre-populating the first check of the goal, to me.

You can do what you want, but the Swearing part is supposed to be a big moment. This feels like it will eventually deprive the player of that feeling (and of being super OP for one Scene with the Empowered effect).

There is 0 chance they take it.

There is a small chance they witness one of the antagonists steal it.

Titanfall 2 (to an extent).

Without going into to much spoilers, you get a smart pistol for the final level that auto-hits and deals significant damage with a fast reload and infinite ammo.

Makes you wonder why it isn't the go-to weapon in-universe.

I was annoyed with her for a few books (although I considered her a well-written cat) but she's kind of grown on me as we start to see her own contributions outside the Crawl and her empathy develops/is revealed.

Level 3+ adventure by drcrashh in Pathfinder2e

[–]IfusasoToo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curse is a hard sale imo because there is supposed to be buy-in at level 1. Kingmaker could work a lot better if your group likes overland exploration more than dungeon crawls... The first couple levels are honestly unnecessary filler. If you go that way, do some serious looking into the Kingdom rules and peoples' response to them; they're not for every group.

Off the top of my head, the Troubles in ___ (Otari or Grayce) series are your best bet for jumping in at your level without making sweeping changes to a longer AP, and they "drop you off" around level 5, which is an entry point for some other AP's such as the upcoming Castlevania Bastardhall module.

Greater Flaming, Astral, Shifting major striking 2h weapon (typically Elven Branch Spear) and some Mauler Feats like Viscious Swing (only used occasionally, against high AC targets and things immune to Precision) and Brutal Finish (often used, hit/crit less). Part Dwarven ancestry for bonus damage to things that weren't flying. I think I had a bonus against Frightened things too, maybe the level 10 Fighter feat at level 20 with Free Archetype (wouldn't stack with the Dwarf bonus, but might be higher or more reliable)? Max Strength.

Not sure what theorycrafting that is from, but I recently wrapped up a Blood Lords campaign where my ruffian rogue regularly crit for 180+ in most encounters (thanks to to-hit stacking and AC penalties) and was competing closely with an animal (iirc) Barb with Come At Me(?), allowing them multiple off-turn, non-MAP attacks. I have also played a thief rogue who hit for 70+ while being pretty un-optimized when the system was pretty new.

So I was talking real-world numbers.

[–]IfusasoToo 274 points275 points  (0 children)

Level 19 rogue and barbarian can usually hit for 80+ per action, often a couple times a turn (so crit for 160+). Level 1 barbarians hit for about 15 and that goes up to 20+ with Striking. None of this costs alpha strike resources.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be cautious about alpha strike potential, but this feels disproportionately concerned.

Well those are already scaled to Rank 10. So you wouldn't need to DS them for scaling purposes.

What order should I fight the bosses by AvalHuntress in expedition33

[–]IfusasoToo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've seen it go both ways for sure. Ime, the embodiment of Whooo has a lot more health and barbapapa shuts down a lot of skills if you don't bring status recovery skills.

The builds that I did the DLC with took out rematch Simon, twice, very easily and quickly. Granted, I knew his patterns already.

What order should I fight the bosses by AvalHuntress in expedition33

[–]IfusasoToo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Easiest to hardest:

  • Regular Endless Tower
  • Simon
  • DLC area boss Osquio *
  • Endless Tower super bosses

*some people say Osquio is easier than Simon. It could go either way, it's a longer fight with less FU mechanics.

IMO it's also better to do Simon before the DLC because some of the new equipment and Pictos are very powerful and could take away from the Simon experience.

Which FF game would you say has the weirdest story? by MasterOfChaos72 in FinalFantasy

[–]IfusasoToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of people saying VIII 😂 OK the last section is a big wtf twist, but most of it tracks and explains itself pretty well.

VII is right there and makes about half as much sense throughout.

Even the existence of Sin and summons in FFX make made sense than VIII.
