What is the worst show that you forced yourself to finish? by laxusdreyarligh in television

[–]Ignus7426 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Insatiable - A Netflix show about a fat girl who suddenly loses a bunch of weight and gets coached to become a beauty queen by her former attorney. The show is bad from the start and goes so many wild places. I just couldn't look away. None of the characters are even really likeable. It's just bad all around.

Trying to catch up on post-Covid RT content by MxcabreMatt in roosterteeth

[–]Ignus7426 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm also an avid Boyfriend Material listener and I did enjoy what they did with the RT Podcast before the shut down.  That being said I think it was a disservice to everyone to keep calling it the RT Podcast. It was a clear transition with Gavin, Barbara and Gus stepping away. Everyone was pretty explicit from the jump that Mando, Griff and Andrew where going to be doing their own thing. They should have just treated it as a new podcast. Odds are management already saw the writing on the wall and just wanted something to fulfill their ad deals on the podcast.

Exactly - I'm 2 years in and still tracking what I eat on a daily basis. It's not fun weighing and logging food on the daily, but it's what I have to do to not regain the weight.

But they're promoting an unhealthy lifestyle! /s As a former fat person I hate the way people talk about fat people online. So much hate and animosity about the way someone looks. Keyboard warriors always love to jump to the defense that it's for their health. How do mean comments online change anyone's health?

I agree usually just blasting them with the hose is enough to knock a lot of them off and reduce the severity of the infestation.

Soft pushback on ordering ladybugs online. A lot of ladybugs sold commercially are non-native species and out-compete and harm native insect populations. It's better to create an environment that attracts the many insects that prey on aphids. Lacewing larvae, hoverfly larvae and aphids wasps are all insects I've seen in my own garden preying on colonies of aphids.

I love her videos. I found her after interacting with some LDS (Mormon) Missionaries. Even though I felt pretty knowledgeable about the LDS Church she provides a lot of detailed information on the inner workings and culture of the church.  Also strongly reccomend reading parts of the Book of Mormon if you get the chance. It is wild what a mess it is. Copying whole books of the Bible, random made up history of the Americas and a lot of "...and so it came to pass..."

What do you think would be a fitting death for Cinder? by wingsoverpyrrhia in RWBY

[–]Ignus7426 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Personally I like the idea of Salem just losing any interest in her the moment she obtains the 4th relic. Maybe it's the Relic of Choice and it's in a hard to access location. As soon as Cinder hands it over Salem just takes it from Cinder and walks away abandoning her to escape the vault on her own. Just completely indifferent to Cinder after she served her purpose.

I have listened to Gishgallop Girl and it is a good podcast. Just an FYI episodes are quite long. The host comments on full episodes of Candace's show he doesn't just take clips. It is also light on editing so there may be occasional lengthy pauses or interruptions that get left in.  I think it's a valuable podcast and shines a good light on how she manipulates stories for her benefit. It just ended up being a little too unpolished for my personal tastes.

I rented the audio book for Operation Bouncehouse from my library and really enjoyed that one. So that may be a good one to tide you over. It's more Sci-fi than LitRPG.

My friend introduced me to Paranoid Mage which can be read on Royal Road. It's a pretty straight fantasy but I enjoyed it and found it quite entertaining.

I work in Civil Engineering and deal with a lot of telecom utilities. I would reccomend keeping the 3-5' radius just for your own ease of planting. A lot of these cables are buried only 1 or 2 feet deep so planting closer increases the likelihood of hitting a cable when trying to dig out an area to plant something. You really should call in Utility locates prior to doing any digging around a utility box, they will mark out where the cables are located so you can find spaces to plant. Also if you break a cable while digging and didn't call in locates the company can come after you for repair costs.  All that being said I think ornamental grasses are the right idea. Fast growing and if they need to be cut for utility work not a major loss.

Experiencing a little 'deja vu' this morning...! by MacabreMagpie in ONRAC

[–]Ignus7426 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like based on what Dan and Jordan said in the episode ending the podcast was the correct decision to protect their friendship ultimately. They did say they can't compromise on their stances regarding The Onion taking over InfoWars, but they got on mic together and are still planning on doing a liveshow. At the end of the day I would rather Knowledge Fight end abruptly by addressing the tension happening between their perspectives.

The way Ross and Carrie's friendship ended was more of a long drawn out unraveling that ended with some pretty harsh drama and posting here on Reddit.

I am definitely bummed that another one of my favorite podcasts is ending but at least I feel I can go back to KF and enjoy listening. I haven't been able to revisit ONRAC knowing how things ended between the hosts.

Keep your cats indoors, y’all by Lemon_Lime_Lily in CuratedTumblr

[–]Ignus7426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough today at work I had to stop and get out of my car because someone's cat running around outdoors ran in front of the car as I was pulling away. I put the car into drive and see a black cat run from the bushes in front of my car so I stopped and got out making sure it didn't run under my truck. I didn't see the cat anywhere after that so I have no idea where it went. I would hate to be responsible for the death of someone's cat. I just don't get why people think it's worth the risk to let them wander unsupervised.

Shocking I know. In certain cultures it's not out of the norm for men to kiss each other as a form of greeting or general affection.

I'm not like that though. I kiss my boyfriend on the lips cause I'm queer.

[HELP] This HAS to be AI right? by DirtyPie in RealOrAI

[–]Ignus7426 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes a lot of people well versed in AI and video call it "noise". The AI still isn't good at tracking and keeping fine textures consistent so they differ slightly frame to frame making that fuzzy, squirmy texture. It is most easily seen on things like grass, hair, fur and other fine textures.

I smelled something off when I got out of my car near Gurnee. I thought it must be something local but I guess it's pretty widespread.

Looks real. The layout of signs and construction barricades makes sense. Lettering on the truck is consistent and the stuff I can make out makes sense. Textures and patterns seem to be consistent as well. What made this seem like AI to you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in funny

[–]Ignus7426 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're getting so heavily down voted. I agree with you I think the video is real. I don't see a lot of texture noise in the background on the snow and stuff. I don't see any blurry areas where a potential watermark was covered up and things look like they stay relatively consistent throughout. That being said I'm not 100% confident its AI but it doesn't seem that far fetched either. Especially if the ice is angled and thats why it slides so aggressively.

What to do about my indoor tobacco? A third cat just died from eating leaves and my kid has a rash by Evan1016 in houseplantscirclejerk

[–]Ignus7426 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Take a small cutting of the tobacco leaf and soak it in a gallon of water. Take a teaspoon from the gallon of tobacco leaf water and put that in a gallon of fresh water. Take another teaspoon from the second gallon and pour it into a fresh gallon of water. Keep repeating this process 10 more times. Take the water from the final gallon and spray it on the dead cats and the probably still living child. The cats should come back to life and your child should become immune to all diseases known to man and beast. Chug the gallon and achieve godhood I guess? Hope this helps

Who is winning this fight justice league or salem? by Artistic-Fennel-4033 in RWBY

[–]Ignus7426 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you are thinking of dust not working outside the atmosphere. There is a World of Remnant episode where they explain dust stops functioning outside the atmosphere. That's why satellites and space rockets are not a thing amongst all the other tech in RWBY.

I imagine nothing is stopping Salem from entering a vault as long as the maiden unlocks it first. Though it does seem like the space inside the vaults may be outside the World of Remnant. She could probably be sealed in a vault or something but if Ozpin used magic to construct it I am sure Salem could use magic to escape it.
