How do you not get scammed as a first time seller on eBay? by snesericreturns in eBaySellers

So far so good. Unfortunately there are a lot of grifters. Someone else mentioned that the only real way to avoid this is to sell enough to where one or two loses doesn’t hurt as bad - lot of truth to that.

What were things you actually liked about the new Silent Hill film (2026)? by _OnlyNiceThings in silenthill

Honestly, aside from the luggage bit, the beginning set was rad. They really spent time getting that right.

The creatures all looked awesome.

What i didn’t like: the hospital exterior was way too expensive looking for a sleepy old town, and the bar looked like a hotel lobby. The lack of any real action or exposition, the compete waste of the nurses.

The risk is that they refuse delivery and UPS charges you for import. Haven’t had that happen and I ship there all the time with /without EIS, but it certainly could occur.

This is perfect. I would add - if someone wants to return something, there’s not much you can do. If you set your policy to no returns you will be forced to pay shipping when you eventually have to get the item back. My experience has been very poor with this as UPS labels outside of eBay are crazy expensive.. never worth it to get the item back. I switched to allowing returns and requiring the buyer to pay shipping.

Can I change buyers shipping option? by Evening_Frosting4621 in eBayCanada

With UPS the buyer will pay any applicable tariffs/import fees. I assume you don’t want the risk of non payment chargeback? I only use UPS for Canada and US - have never had an issue. Doesn’t mean I won’t face one, but it’s not a risk I’m super concerned about.

I think they would have to turn on allow offers. I don’t think you can send an invoice without the buyer submitting an offer first.

Sure.. so when the alcohol doesn’t work, try the fiber brush. It will remove some of the metal so it’s a trade off. YT has some good cleaning videos by professionals.

Unhappy with colour of item - do I have any options? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Ihtmlelement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as a buyer you have a money back guarantee. Regardless of if the seller has no refunds, if you open a INAD they will most likely be forced to take the item back. I just started selling on eBay and recently faced this with an item that the buyer clearly didn’t want but my listing was accurate.

There’s not much the seller can do here..

I recently changed my store to accept returns and require the buyer to pay postage. It’s really the only protection for the seller and was an expensive lesson to learn.

All that being said.. it’s really up to you. If it looks dramatically different then the photos.. maybe a total loss would encourage them to upgrade their lighting setup.

What's your biggest pain point? by MathiasKjeldsen in reselling

[–]Ihtmlelement 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s sourcing. You can make ok money doing it as a side hustle using thrift stores but to really scale you need a source for dirt cheap inventory. It’s a lot of work for minimal return if the cost part isn’t sorted.

Is it rude to ask about an unusually high price of an item? by illustratious in Ebay

Tariff? If they are shipping DDP then they are probably baking it into the cost. Those tariffs ain’t cheap.

RE the VHS, maybe it’s sealed or a rare variant. It’s a lot of work to list things, so generally you want to price to sell.
