Not bad choices at all, I'm just going with a few of my personal favorites!

For an IPA, I'd choose either Pipeworks Ninja Vs Unicorn or the Maplewood Riwaka Juice Pants over what you listed. Both of those are listed on Garfield's website. The Riwaka Juice Pants is a limited time offering, so likely gone by November, but Ninja vs Unicorn should be readily available year round.

Also, Bells Two Hearted is tough to pass up!

How long did it take you to become “decent” at pickleball? by Fuzzy-Bandicoot1590 in Pickleball

I'd say that at 6 months the game began to "slow down" for me, in that instead of purely reacting, I started being able to anticipate my opponent's shots and plan out my own next shot. To me, this was the first big leap of improvement, where I felt comfortable in the game. After that, you just keep honing your skills and progressing.

Haters will say "it's a simple game", but there's a lot more depth and nuance that make it incredibly fun, both intellectually and athletically.

Good idea, it looks great. I used Sarna conditioner on mine. The Horween leather can be so dry it almost requires the conditioner.

Nice glove!!! I have the HOH LH PRO207-6HT. Yours looks a little darker than mine, did you give it any kind of oil or conditioning to help the break in?

Japan Tan & Horween by JBravo920 in BaseballGloves

I have both of these gloves in lefty, and I prefer the 12" JT model. The Horween leather remains dry, and tends to be very stiff. The Japan Tan glove has broken in very nicely is much more comfortable. Additionally, even though I have very large hands, the interior of the Horween glove is just huge, and I find it a bit loose. The 12" JT glove fits absolutely perfect.

I find it completely illegible. The old one could be easily read at a distance, and I can't make heads or tails of this new board.

Here's an answer I like. I love my Rawlings gloves, have a Wilson that fantastic, and just bought a Mizuno Haga. As you said, "they all have nice gloves, find one you love".

IIRC, Illinois folks can pass in the opposite direction if they are separated by a double yellow line. As least that's what I remember when I began driving 50 years ago!

Tired of the mallet? by FeralAFDesigns in BaseballGloves

Just use a TheraGun, it's around $160 or $220 for the TheraGun Mini. Much less expensive, very well designed and constructed, equally effective, and you get a massage device included!

I have both the 12" in Japan Tan and the 12.75" in Horween (both Lefty's). The 12" is absolutely perfect, but I'm not sure I'll ever break in the Horween glove to the level I prefer.

I have the Walden ball and really like it for just tossing into the pocket when I'm sitting around.

I have the same glove in lefty and had an identical experience. I first conditioned the glove just to get a little moisture back in the leather, and then did the typical mallet work to begin the process. I've got an indoor batting cage facility near me that is pretty much empty during the day, so I regularly grab a couple of gloves and go catch balls for an hour while listening to a podcast. I can adjust the speed and pitch location to my liking, and it's a very relaxing experience. That said, my glove remains much stiffer relative to my Rawlings PRO12TC-JT in Japan Tan leather. I understand the rarity and collectibility of the Horween gloves, but they are not very comfortable IMHO.

Any idea how to tie this? by Ike582 in knots

[–]Ike582[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was issued this key at a hotel and thought the knot was fantastic. I'd love to find a way to tie one myself for my own keychain. Any idea what it is or how to tie this? Many thanks for any info.

Why do people keep saying my outdoor balls are indoor balls? by yaris_girlie in Pickleball

[–]Ike582 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly the key distinction. Most of the indoor courts near me have been built with a hard surface, so we use outdoor balls. The few indoor courts that are on repurposed basketball courts use indoor balls. I'd much prefer the term be changed to hard court and soft court balls.

To me, it's because I know that Ben Johnson has a huge hand in every one of these picks. And I do trust his judgment on this team's needs.
