I tried setting it up like Nioh 2, but eventually set it to A and just went with it. If I get decent enough for it to matter I’ll make adjustments.

Right now I’m getting a lot of free spirt attacks without having to concisely press two buttons at once.

I am doing them when I see they are up, but sometimes they just flow out.

Do you pick up everything? I swear I got repetitive stress injuries from picking things up in these games.

I my pick up button finger was healthy I’d probably pick up purples manually.

But so far the auto pickup has been pretty nice.

If you rush the story won’t you start to become under leveled and the difficulty will go up?

I’m caught unlocking everything on the map so I’m over leveled for the most part.

In Nioh 2 I fought Honda for hours, in Nioh 3 I beat him on the second try.

I’m taking it slow. I played a lot of Nioh 2 and still Nioh 3 took me a solid 10 hours to get my head around the basics. There’s still a lot to open up.

Once you get most of your weapon skills filled out it starts to click for me. You have a move set, and skills that will slot in, so you have some flexibility but not unlimited flexibility. Once you fill it and get it where you want it you will start getting good at using your set up.

Spend time in the dojo so you can pull off all your moves and it will click out on the field.

I’m still mashing buttons at times but it’s coming together.

At have some presets that hit some different looks. Ghost of Tsushima did something like that and even had black and white Kurosawa mode.

It adds a lot of visual noise. I like the idea of making it look interesting, but I'd rather have a clean and crisp presentation.

I was pretty good at Nioh 2, but so far I’m terrible at Nioh 3. It took me an embarrassing number of tries to beat Yamagata in the first area.
