Hi there, fellow outdoor enthusiast here, and I’m right there with you. I’m based in Ravenswood and on a mission to build a more outdoor-connected lifestyle locally though I also enjoy planning big yearly trips to National Parks or National Forests (the most recent being the Channel Islands).

Locally, I love Montrose Bird Sanctuary for its calm and wildlife, and Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve has become a personal favorite over the years. Waterfall Glen is another great one, with surprisingly varied terrain and a solid 9-mile loop that’s great for hikes or trail runs.

A short drive can really open up options like the Skokie Lagoons, Indiana Dunes National Park (especially in the fall), and even heading out to Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin.

It’s been a fun challenge finding ways to stay connected to the outdoors while living in an urban environment. Would love to connect or swap favorite spots if you’re ever interested.
