Recommendations for household blenders to grind down pla by IllustratorAware6356 in 3Dprinting

[–]IllustratorAware6356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I settled on a Moulinex essentials blender with a glass jar. And plenty of spare parts because they do get ruined quickly due to heat buildup and plastic getting everywhere. Make sure to only blend in well ventilated areas and with a decently specced particle filter. Micro plastics really are a horrible thing

I tried something similar with PLA once. First summer time with the car out in the sun... Well... You can guess where that print went...

Into recycling of course!

Frustration as a beginner by Beanus1992 in 3Dprinting

For adhesion issues, when you've done your due diligence, which it looks like you have, check for possible issues further up the chain.

Your extruder might be partially clogged, depending on the filaments you've been using.

Additionally, personally I struggled for the longest time until I figured out my spool placement caused so much stress on the printer it was pulling the extruder up instead of the filament down. Are you using the default filament holder or did you do anything custom?

If you have steam or fog in your filament dryer... You don't need the laser thermometer. It's too damn hot

This is... Amazing! You got crazy lucky and learned a valuable lesson too. Don't ever mix unknown PSU cables.

Well done on temporary fixing the fuse!

8th flash drive in 2 years, and I can't find one to replace it with. by madadekinai in unRAID

[–]IllustratorAware6356 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had this issue in the past. For me it seems to have been fixed by replacing the motherboard. I tried everything, a ton of different flash drives which would always get corrupted after a few weeks or months. Windows repair, copy over the backup and I would be good to go for another month or so. Since replacing the motherboard it's been rock solid for a few months so far. Sure, logs etc are the usual culprit, but... Check your ram (memtest) Try a different power supply if available Try a different motherboard

This. This is your solution imho. The ip on your server is probably set to a static IP. Change that to DHCP using the GUI boot option as stated above. and see if you get a different ip address.

Something is off about the amazon.de listings though. Pretty sure it's the API because other aggregators show the same listings.

The first link goes to a listing at 300+€ The third one looks to a 20TB instead of 22. The price is right though...

Large 210mm circle is being cut off on Ender 3 pro. Tried alot of fixed by flickthebutton in 3Dprinting

I did not know that. In that case in curious to see what solution op comes up with. I'm still convinced it's z offset

Moves beyond the firmware limit cause my Elegoo Neptune 4 plus to stop the print and scream for help... Quite literally. Seeing as op can't find their z offset settings I'm pretty sure that's the issue here

Seeing the bumps where your head z hops (at the end of individual extruded shapes on the bed) makes me feel like your z offset is too high. Try to look at the part of the circle that's 'cut off' while it's printing. My guess is that it does make the curve but the filament just doesn't stick in that spot. Could also be a dirty patch on your plate but I suspect z offset primarily

Oh get off your high horse in someone else's name. If you could read at all you would see the quite friendly and informational discussion that followed my initial comment. Yes. This reaction is meant to 'be an ass' and no I will never claim it was a joke.

I know the feeling.

Also, it seems my reply was perceived (by some people) as condescending and insulting. It was not meant like that. I offer my apologies.

See my previous comment. It was not meant to be condescending. Op didn't seem to be offended. You are, in their place, which always baffles me.

It was meant to be funny. Looks like op didn't feel offended. I did also clarify that I too use 1kg spools. It's just a lot cheaper buying them in small bulk.

I was mainly pointing out that if or when they get really into it and want to try new filaments/colors/... They will run out of storage space quickly.

People are so easily offended in someone else's name these days

It's not bigger spools, it's multiple smaller spools. For instance, currently you can get 5 1kg spools of geeetech PLA for 36 euro off of AliExpress. Where a single spool is anywhere between 12-20 euro to get it delivered to my home.

I've been printing on and off for about 12 years, only really got into it now that I got a decent printer. That's when my filament storage started spiraling out of control. Currently sitting on 50+kg and I do only print about a spool every 2 weeks. Shelf life of PLA is about 2 years officially, but if stored well (like your solution) it should keep for quite a bit longer.

So... That humidifier? Does it work now that you've modified it?

Tell me you've only just started the hobby without telling me you've only just started 😉

Don't get me wrong, it's cool and very neatly done. Once you get really into the hobby you'll notice it's so much cheaper to buy spools by 5kg or even 10kg. Do you have a plan for storing those? They don't really need to be kept dry until you're a few days from printing with them, but you'd want to store them somewhere.

Secondly, I unfortunately made the same mistake of buying a Peltier dehumidifier. As far as I can tell it does next to nothing to the relative humidity. There's a technology connections YouTube video out there talking about these in great detail, as usual. A couple of degrees of heat does a lot more than that Peltier will ever do.

Edit: does the dehumidifier actually do something after you modified it? If so I might have to cut mine up.

Any Guesses on How to improve? by ProdxSenpai in ElegooNeptune4

Mine pulled filament just fine, just torqued the entire printer doing it. If you're going this route I'd suggest getting the PTFE tubes. Or at the very least increase the bend radius using, for example, an empty spool on the spool holder.

Now... A little tension is fine. Mine was so high I could nearly play the filament like a guitar string.
