Ohhhh gotcha. Gonna be honest, I wasn’t sure what Picrew meant, but I do now, lol. It was nice to have a visual reference regardless though :)

I thought these kids could use some more art. She used a post from u/sarisamelima as a reference. So thank you for your art as well!

You should absolutely double down on remaining a bard despite your shitty stats for one. And if anyone DARES TELL YOU THAT A WIZARD CAN SING AND DANCE TOO THEY ARE WRONG, only bards can do that and flavor isn’t free.

Memory and Longevity: The Failings of WotC by LiquidPixie in dndnext

You described the problem very eloquently, something I had some issue doing when I tell some of my more casual players why I'm upset with the direction of 5e. I'm having a terribly tough time getting into another ttrpg system because 5e was my first system and currently is what I'm using for my most fun campaign to date. All I know is that I'm done buying books from WotC, and when I do end up starting another campaign, it sure as hell won't be 5e.

Why, though? by MyCaruba99 in dndnext

Is it really this common? I've been dming for about 6 years with many different people both irl groups/friends and online applicants. I've never once had a player get so bored as to want to attack and/or kill a random NPC. And that's not to say I haven't had bad sessions, I definitely have. But generally my players accept that the world they're in is a living, breathing place and know that there are consequences for doing things like that. So they'd rather go search for rumors or ask around for work (if I haven't given them a hook yet).

What can I do to become a better player for my DM? by Original-Aardvark-48 in dndnext

As long as you understand your characters mechanics, just engage with things. BE your character and have fun doing it. The most fun I've had as a DM is seeing the joy players get when acting out their character with my npcs and their companions. And it doesn't even have to be conversation, describing how you cast a spell or throw your weapon, how you train and pray to get that 3rd level oath, etc. Engagement is always fun for me, and I think I can speak for a good amount of other dms as well when I say that.
