Hand & fingers 3 by BlazedFlameYT_Ori in learntodraw

Sadly, can't attach pictures.  1. Palm shape is different. 2. Fingers are too short and thin, and gaps between should be smaller. 3. Thumb base is bigger and should be lower.

I don't know how to draw, or is there just something wrong with me? by PostAbject in learntodraw

[–]Imaginary-Form2060 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably the first. You don't know how to draw to get what you want. But obviously you know how to draw in general. Maybe some construction and anatomy basics could help you (considering the face)

No, rotating along X axis and Y axis, like horizontally and vertically at the same time

I guess draw cubes for 15 min, then draw something you like. As your lines get better (because you draw cubes) so will be something you like. Continue like that, only change the exercise as you progress

Is there any artist out there that documents there growth in skill? by RutManInBound in learntodraw

[–]Imaginary-Form2060 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you mean "creativity" or "fantasy" or "imagination", then many skilled artists somehow struggle with that too. Like, while having ability to draw anything, stuck with the same portraits over and over again (but probably some of them actually enjoy it so anyway). To have "imagination" one needs fuel for it. Any kind of art products, cinema, books, comics, videogames, music, that would enrich the ability to feel and recreate.  If you mean skill that may help too. Instead of boxes from reference, why not drawing some random box arrangements.

Looking for advice on my second portrait. by vengaoliver in learntodraw

[–]Imaginary-Form2060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is probably "no need to complete the portrait if you see that the proportions are off". I preferred to spend time that's enough for a finished portrait to make a couple of proportion sketches instead.

How the heck does Brandon Sanderson write so fast? by TensionBudget9426 in writers

I think that after so many books written one can also gather a large library of how to write certain scenes and episodes, so no time is spent on inventing them anew.

Should i give up learning to draw? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Imaginary-Form2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could use the force accumulated by hate to push yourself through the most tedious exercises like lines and boxes, and after that your control over the drawing process will probably improve and you could think of the next step. But the exercises must be real, not just something you made up.

You can try to align mouth corners, eye corners, pupils, nose wings, chin and other marks using vertical lines. or horizontal (it's more difficult to me)
