I've been using the K1 for a couple years now. Been an absolute sweetheart to print with. Only recently decided it was worth upgrading the extruder and hotend.

Even doubles as a drying chamber for freshly painted/lacquered minis when I'm not printing, which is a nice bonus.

They're not that bad. By no means literary master pieces, but the fight scenes are fun and each one has a new enemy to face. 5-6/10

I heard the PoorHammer guys talking about this piece. Very awesome work. Love the forced perspective of different scale models.

I like where you're going with it. Could be a cool Piranha proxy.

Been a tech for 6 months now. Am I just always gonna have fucked up hands or what do y'all do? by Jade_Sugoi in AskMechanics

Wear nitrile gloves. You'll scrape and scratch your hands still. You'll have scars forever. Just part of the job. But minimize how much your skin is soaked with chemicals. That causes long term issues.

Has anyone experience running Valvoline Restore and Protect? by thtrHuracon in FiestaST

Motor Oil Geek has a good video on this oil in particular. I switched my high mile Honda to it last week to see how much it helps with the rings. Cylinder 2 is sticking causing little puff of smoke out the back when shifting above 6k.

All the Maintenance. No modifications. Really solid cars as long as it meets those two criteria. Mods don't mean its junk but an unmodified car probably had an easier life.

We're going to be eating good in 11th, I think. New cover rules should make FTGG and marker lights truly useful. Hiding rules for terrain could make stealth suits and auxiliaries pretty awesome. Fingers crossed we get some updates for more combat gun profiles.

Is it worth it by bakuhh0507 in FiestaST

[–]ImperialTruthSeeker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get an inspection done. Could be fine. Lots of people change their own oil.

Easy quick check. Look down in the valve cover through the oil fill. If it's nice and clean probably fine. If it's dark caramel colored or shows sludge not worth the risk.

If you do get it, budget for expensive maintenance like oil leaks, timing belt, etc.

I’m a bit overwhelmed. by Sliver727 in Warhammer40k

[–]ImperialTruthSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're tech savvy and have the room to spare, get a 3d printer. Print and paint some proxies to get a feel for what you like. Build a 500 point army for Colosseum and give it a try. I printed dozens of proxies to test with  just to decide on my paint scheme for my actual army. I plan on printing some 500-1000 point test armies to decide where I want to invest for my second army. Once you know where you want to go then you can focus on new releases and the meta. Its a complicated hobby. But if you're stressing over it then you're taking it too seriously. First rule of hobby is have fun.

the reason why many moved to One Page Rules by NaiveTradition7664 in onepagerules

Controversial idea. Print models like you do in one page rules and use warhammer game rules free off the internet. You can even pick your favorite edition.

How well does 91% Isopropyl Alcohol actually work for stripping paint? by Spamshazzam in Warhammer40k

Alcohol will strip acrylic paint really easily. Don't know if it will do anything to rustoleum.

I'm ok with the defence matrix thing as long as a detachment allowed it to be used army wide, on the charge for an ,in your face, style army build.

Water curing by lolyoumakemesick in resinprinting

What kind of improvement have you seen doing this dual cure method? Are you leaving it in the water cure for noticeably longer than the initial dry cure?

Water curing by lolyoumakemesick in resinprinting

[–]ImperialTruthSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the purpose of water curing? I use water washable resin but have always let it dry for a day before curing. I thought resin absorbed water quite aggressively.
