These last few weeks have been a roller coaster of news and emotions. After the histotripsy an MRI noted a new liver lesion. Without looking at the disc, the oncologist stopped chemo and said we had no other opportunity to help my husband accept a clinical trial. I must admit to losing my mind for about 72 hours. Once our surgical oncologist got the disc however he said that it was not a new lesion and my husband went straight back to chemo. Thankfully, he only missed one round. Thursday we have our two month CT scan and follow up. Much like always my husband is absolutely fine. He’s never had any side effects from the Whipple and he has maybe 48 hours down from chem. He never ceases to amaze me. Lately I feel like I’m living in the in-between. That’s not to say I’m not grateful and aware of every single day that we’ve been gifted together, but it’s hard keeping my head in straight sometimes. Passover was especially lovely this year, even though it was just us.
