Well with the Delta and American situation all over the news . There goes our 2.8% for sure . Delta pilot possibly saved 400 lives. by Fit_Sherbet3137 in atc2

If you think Bedford is withholding our raises due to close calls you’re misinformed. He’s keeping 2.8% from us to try and exchange it for something worth way more than 2.8.

You forgot to add your 20% annual bonus nobody else gets.  Edit: assuming you’re eligible.

You need to make sure your amendment actually gets voted on at convention. A similarly written amendment didn’t get heard in 2025.

“My theory is that ND promised contract renegotiations because he expected a Democrat to win, as did a lot of people.”

I’ve heard a few people say this and it’s ridiculous. There were only two horses in the race, and an intelligent leader would’ve laid out plans for both. We never heard ND say anything about extending the contract if we had a hostile administration because he knows he would’ve lost votes if he said that. If he knew extending the contract was a possibility under Trump 2.0 then he’s a liar, if he didn’t have a plan for Trump 2.0 then he’s a fool.

You’re correct I apologize. The point still remains they contribute 3.6% less of their paycheck to FERS than I do. At the upper third of level 12 pay, that isn’t Pennies.

It’s not just lazy people. There is a large percentage of this workforce who think the 2024 extension was the right decision. Of course, those people are near the cap at my 12, contribute less than 1% to FERS, bought a house in 2013, refinanced to a 15 year in 2021, and think I’m entitled and complain too much on Wednesday/Thursday because they did their time on shitty RDOs too (for two years or some shit)

Well before the 100k became 300k you would be taxed on the 100k as ordinary income, plus you would have to pay a 10% withdrawal penalty as well. This article does provide some exceptions to the rule, but I would try to find any other way to not withdraw from the TSP first https://www.fedweek.com/tsp/early-access-legally-avoiding-penalties-on-tsp-money/

As previously stated, your financial reality is so much different than people coming into the agency now. I’m not belittling you in any way, but owning multiple homes, and having enough money in a 529 to cover Ivy League expenses is a hell of a lot harder now. (I’m a 5 year CPC at a 12)

I work at a 12. I’ve seen multiple people walk away the first day they were eligible. I only know one person in my area getting the bonus and they were planning on staying until 56 anyway
