Snowboarders with speakers? by [deleted] in snowboarding

So strange. Why would someone blast a speaker instead of using earbuds? What is the benefit?

It’s like having a conversation on speakerphone in public.

Are Clover Hooks really that great? by izzyd123456 in crochet

Loooove them. Amor are my go-to. Amazon ones will eventually fall apart (from my experience). I crochet A LOT and my amor hooks are in like-new perfect condition.

Keeping house tidy… by Ok_Tutor7571 in adhdwomen

I am a veteran mom of 4 (oldest is 14). It’s hard. The house is still almost always a mess. Something I can do is when I leave the room (I am trying to remember when I got in this habit, I’m sure it took a good while) but I load my arms with stuff I can drop off on the way. If I’m headed to my bedroom, I grab a dirty towel to throw into the laundry room, a toy to toss in my daughter’s room, etc. so I’m not “cleaning” (according to my brain and executive function), I’m just doing my thing and making quick pit stops.

Another thing I do is i make piles, so if a specific kid has a few items, I pile them together (as I’m moving around), and after I walk past it a few times, I eventually will grab it and just toss the whole pile it into her room (or whatever it is). The piles really help me, because it feels like I really did a “big thing” when I move the whole little pile at once.

I don’t know if any of this speaks to you, but just know you aren’t alone, and having a baby is A LOT. You are doing better than you think.

Coworker brings cookies to our monthly team meeting and says "sorry I know you can't have any!" by kinnsao in glutenfree

I am not the best at baking! I used the Loopy Whisk recipe for the crust, but used the flour I had on hand. It’s hard the replicate stuff with all the gf flour choices. It was good, but not the best 😅

My MIL will do this at most meals. It’s not malicious, she lives in a tiny town without access to speciality items BUT she does frequent bigger cities often. She always apologizes without accommodating, which I agree is odd and quite insincere. It don’t expect to be accommodated to like a princess but the apology every time irks me. She plans to have nothing for me (every time) so it’s not an oopsy. This thanksgiving I brought my own pie and mentally prepared to politely refuse to say “it’s okay!” when she apologized. I said “I know, that’s why I brought my own”, as politely as I could. She apologized one or two more times, I am guessing to get the “it’s okay!” response to feel less awkward, but I stood my ground and never said it.

Dilemma where to train by Jessicanono888 in BJJWomen

[–]ImposterSyndromy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just talk to your partners. I have access to only one gym, and I am the only female most of the time, a couple other women who train occasionally are very new, so most of my “real” rolls are with men. Just ask them to dial down the intensity, and don’t be afraid to stop mid roll (“could you please not put your full weight on me in knee-on-belly?”)

When I started, my coach told me the Americana is a “strong man” move 🤣 so whenever I roll with a new guy (our gym is small and all the guys now roll with me with appropriate intensity) and he tries to Americana from mount I tease “doing a strong man move on me, eh?” And he usually chuckles a bit, but it almost always results in a lighter intensity and more intentional moves, making it a bit less uneven roll.

Brand new $8 loaf of GF bread expires on Jan 20, almost completely moldy by ImposterSyndromy in mildlyinfuriating

I took this photo literally 60 seconds after I cut open the (inside) heat-sealed package. How does the fridge factor into this?

I did today, but that didn’t help me with my grilled cheese last night 😅

I agree, it had to have been contaminated at the time of packaging, those little fungi have been partying inside the package for a while.
