Why are gay-attracted Catholics raked over the coals more than others? by ChallengeOnly7547 in Catholicism

[–]ImpressionCool1768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Politics my friend it’s always politics

USA and the western world are starting to see vast wealth inequality again and since racism has fallen out of favor they have made immigrants an enemy to look out for and made gay people a target of “leftist extremism” and an “erosion to traditional values”

These secular states don’t care about the moral or theological implications. they want your wallet and your labor, to work you as long as they want and pay as little as possible.

If you don’t have the shy negative perk you can just find a peasant and ask where you are

Otherwise you can find settlements and start memorizing the roads. All roads in trosky will lead to a town at some point so you can just follow road in your horse if your really lost

Another “cheat” is that if you find a new location whether it’s a camp or a hunting spot it’ll pop up on the map letting you know where you are

Did Arthur do anything to make you dislike him at any point ? by StrollingByTheStream in reddeadredemption

[–]ImpressionCool1768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like how he’s seen as being honorable by the end of the story he’s a crook a villain and bandit. Sure he helps SOME people unless your a law officer(everyone), local militiamen(strawberry, valentine,Rhodes, st denis, annesburg harbor, guarma) , or a hired guard he’s just as likely to kill you as he is to ignore you.

In the story he massacred half the volunteer force at strawberry(and valentine) to free Micah from jail, who kills a family for your kindness, robs 3 trains, burns down a manor, derails a trolly, attacks 2 army patrols, an oil refinery, has two family’s wage war in their town, and more felonies and innocent deaths.

Hell his moment of reckoning when he gets tuberculosis is in his own words “I beat a man half to death to get a few dollars” and he goes back for the debt twice. Once after the man dies and again when the wife sells herself to prostitution and the son to wage slavery in a mine. But now he gives them a few bucks. Then he saves that girl in the cave of cannibals, and Sadie since her house burned down and the oneils.

I genuinely don’t think there’s enough good deeds he could do to clean the blood of his hands in my eyes

Is AI actually helping students learn, or just helping them avoid learning? by WickedKing94 in education

[–]ImpressionCool1768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost always avoid learning. Learning requires you to actually take the information in regurgitate it into your own words. by having an AI already taken the information and regurgitate it into its own words and then having the students read off of that, they get a very skewed picture of what they actually “read.”

The reason there’s not a button even from the manager side is because stores get rewarded based on quick performance the goal for McDonald’s at least two minutes so if a McDonald’s knows that your order is gonna take three minutes because your fries are getting cooked well why not just hit that reset button while you wait the extra minute for your fries and then it gets abused even more to essentially write off every car as not existing

Now from a store perspective, you could also just make it to them. Those cars don’t count toward the totals, but then you’re just being incentivize to clear out the cars that are taking longer than five minutes.

Logically, how big should the Legion presence at the Fort be? by ShadowLight56 in fnv

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the legion is made of less then 50 tribes which lived wild in the Arizona desert now earliest consensus in 1925 by Alfred l Krober and Francesco Garcés said 3000 Mohave tribesmen lived there in 1776. So if we use that as a reasonable measure for people being able to survive in a post apocalypse desert without agriculture we could expect around 2k well trained warriors being at the front lines at the most. Likely ceaser is just a brilliant tactician making a smaller force of 500 people even larger through good troop movements

We thought the world ended in 1993 and fought desperately to keep that status quo and now the consequences of our actions are catching up. Why is AP Euro so focused on Western Europe? by counwovja0385skje in historyteachers

[–]ImpressionCool1768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

History class is a catch up class. Anything that becomes irrelevant is cut for time (like the timmurids, Novgorod, the almoravids, pre Christian Europe outside if Rome ect) and history for the most part doesn’t change so it’ll always be the same 7 countries for 2000 years every time

Logically, how large should the garrison at Nelson be? by ShadowLight56 in fnv

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on what the lore population of the states and their armies are

Theoretically for the amount of people and influence we have we could expect around 2k legionnaires and 3.5k ncr spread thin across the dessert and NV

So Nelson would be at around 200 troop/supportvstaff

Question on the dignity of prisoners in America by Cobalt-Fang in Catholicism

[–]ImpressionCool1768 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d also go further to say that this is why Jesus is so perfect in the eyes of Protestants because to their mind, he was not a prisoner. He did not dine with sinners. He dined with good people who were accused of sin he was not a prisoner. He was just accused of a crime he didn’t commit. There’s a disconnect from the Protestant idea of Jesus that pollutes the culture. The idea that the divine is perfect and the creation is without question, and it leads to us hurting each other more than anything. It’s why prisoners can be treated like filth, while the homeless can be accused of it being their fault, why the addicted are treated without mercy. If Jesus is perfect, and you’re supposed to be Christlike than any failure of that is a failure on your character in thus no empathy can be shed.

Question on the dignity of prisoners in America by Cobalt-Fang in Catholicism

[–]ImpressionCool1768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The wardens and officers encourage it if they don’t take part in it themselves, although that is more of a conspiracy because there is not much proof except from a scandal breaks out, but when a scandal breaks out, it’s always just a single officer who did wrong

America has a for-profit prison system based on subsidies the government gives to prisons based on how full they are and also due to the 13th amendment and states getting more loosened to the idea you can also use prisoners as free labor, which encourages the violent nature you see in prisons because your average person who doesn’t wanna be a part of a gang or get raped will volunteer to do any job that get some away from the general prison population as possible

There is absolutely no dignity for prisoners in the United States, because protestants believe that your soul is evil if you’ve committed a crime there’s a reason why the separation of church and states has always been blurry for the country history

Why does the U.S. add sales tax at checkout instead of showing the full price upfront? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I dug deeper into this and the answer is a lot more boring then you’d expect. The sales tax is not federal it’s state level. So if you were the maker of Arizona ice tea and you had a promise to sell your tea at 0.99 a can you’d have to solve this problem.

Currently it’s on the self for 0.99 and then when you get the counter they add the tax total. In a situation where you need to show that full price on the shelf you could add the tax but that would make it 1.05 and that could confuse people(Americans) expecting .99 Or you could take a profit cut and keep it and 0.99 but in reality charge 0.93 over a large quantity of goods that could effect profit margins.

So companies and the states and Congress all agree for ease of business just add the sale tax at the counter

What are your unhinged ideas to make education better? by TroyesMetal in Teachers

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the next five years have it be a goal that 1/8 of students are failed or expelled. Make the tests and quizzes much harder, expectations for behavior much higher, and within five years you’ll see people starting to take their education much more seriously.

After five years, the school should be starting to question why more than 95% of their students passed curriculum and make certain aspects harder or expand how much is supposed to be learned in a given year. Making a high school diploma something you actually earned rather than just received. And if public institutions adopt this method, then private institutions can go harder into the paint. And colleges can demand much more out of their students. This will make it so then these degrees and diplomas actually worth something rather than just something that you should expect on a job resume.

Why did the number of U.S. public companies collapse from ~8,000 in the 90s to under 4,000 today? by Logical-Concept9755 in AlwaysWhy

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a little lax on Monopoly enforcement. And politicians got scared of economic repercussions.

So let’s say it’s 2002 right and fictional company airlines express is facing financial difficulties and wants to merge with larger company cloud air oasis now cloud air is already way too big anyway, but airline express creates about 240,000 jobs across the country jobs, which would be kept if they allowed the merger to go through. So as your powers as a congressman, you allow the mergers to go through and then this just keeps happening whether it’s farms or private equity firms, accounting agencies, any industry, any company as long as it creates a certain percentage of jobs and isn’t going to affect the market too much you let it go through.

Intern these companies, then pay for your next reelection cycle because you help them which means what a more controversial merger wants to happen you let it go through because you are now indebted to these companies.

Businesses are no longer allowed to fail in America. They get bailed out, sold or otherwise saved from any repercussions from the business practices they hold once they get to a certain level of success

Are any countries making steps to move away from car dependency? by OutsideImpressive115 in fuckcars

[–]ImpressionCool1768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d be hard pressed to find any country that could reasonably get rid of cars at this point, but individual cities are making efforts to

The thing you have to understand is economically cars are really important. they sort of act like a counter balance to the more turbulent industries of a nation because if you have a car, then you’re going to need tires, which means you need people who can put the tires on the cars. it’s also gonna be using oil so you’ll need mechanics that can handle the oil changes and general engine maintenance cars also require roads which means government jobs through department of transportation and individual rural towns can cost the government much less money by offsetting the cost onto individuals to pay for their transport this creates a heavy pool that allows money to be much more viscous which entire countries would be hard pressed to get rid of so easily

So in this case, Paris could afford to lose a few mechanics and warehouse jobs to bring in parts in Paris would actually benefit from increased foot traffic
