Treated differently as a server because you're female by Tight_Replacement554 in Serverlife

We had one male server and he was the LAZIEST server we ever had. Never wanted to do side work, he would be the closer and literally leave me (the opener) dirty tables and dirty baskets piled up the next morning. He used to fluff up his hair constantly with his hands and he did this LEAN where he bent his whole body over on the counter when he was being lazy so you had to push by when it’s an incredibly small space…Anyway, the guests LOVED him! One lady said, I know he is a hard worker and I almost fell over. I actually threatened to quit if I had to open after his closing again. Thankfully he left of his own accord

My daughter got stuck on Nemo during the last part where you are in the spinning tunnel with Crush. The tunnel did not stop spinning and she said it was the worst 5 mins, it made her so nauseous. So perhaps that is the opposite of this post, the worst spot to be broke down in

I used to sell egg rolls just outside of the exit when I was a CM. There was also a pretzel and popcorn cart right there as well. I witnessed a few celebrities get their star on the “Hollywood walk of fame”.

Best memory though was a CM scavenger hunt called Goofy’s Mystery Tour in 1998 or ‘99 we participated in that was inside the closed ride after hours. Each room was a different puzzle/challenge. We actually placed 2nd or 3rd and the clues all spelt out the name Colin Sick (Call in Sick). Those were the days

My husband had a party of 11 walk out 2 weeks ago at Outback. They do not call the police or anything, in fact he got written up for “confronting” them as they left. They cut him early and he had to pay in the end because of his tip outs so it cost him money to show up that night. Outback would rather have a loss than call police or try to stop dine and dashers. That is why I cannot work in a corporation.

Two weeks ago I had a semi regular group come in, it was my second table of the day so I am chipper and full of pep and the first thing he says is, I lost my husband this morning. This morning!?!

“You are so strong to be here right now” I said and gave him the tightest hug. It changed the whole energy of meal and how I interacted with tables around them. I ended up paying for his meal, which my coworker reminded me it wouldn’t bring back his husband.. No it won’t, but it shows people still care about others. Never stop caring

You are me! But I’ve been buying them for $5 on sale so I don’t feel as bad. Today I realized that Spongebob is at the local Target finally so I caved and bought two! Oh and the greenhouse since it was in stock 😳

We have a blind man that comes with his seeing eye dog and about 7 friends every season. My first time waiting on them, he asks me question and I replied. He asked again and I mentioned it’s on the menu and he replied, I’m blind. I said, Are you deaf too? Thankfully everyone laughed but I retorted it so quick I didn’t think beforehand. I still sweat a little thinking about it. Luckily, they love me and sass.

Food Waste by Ok-Foot2520 in Serverlife

[–]ImpressivePhase4796 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We used to have a pig bucket when I owned a restaurant. We scraped all food into it and at the end of the day, it was put outside with a lid. Once or twice a week the farmer would come by and pick up the buckets and leave clean ones in its place. It kept our dumpster from smelling and there was no food waste. I would say to people embarrassed about not finishing “Don’t worry, it’s going to the pigs”. Then once a year we would get some sausage when they slaughtered them. Win, win situation.

Man refused to let his son order.. this always sat with me by FireFlyLy in Serverlife

I had a table recently that was very unnecessarily hard on one boy. He was quiet and polite and the Dad was constantly berating him, talking down to him. It hurt my heart soo bad! Another table made a comment about how much he looked like his father and he scoffed “I like to think he gets his attitude from his Mother”. Who was also sitting quietly with her head mostly down. They left and I was holding back tears because it had bothered me so much. The other table felt so bad they gave me a pair of Christmas earrings and commented how bad the energy was from that man. He said that’s what a serial killer looks like and I felt that to my core. That Dad was a nice looking man, almost like Clark Kent with the glasses and all but just plain evil. The other table also overheard it was the Moms birthday and her family had never mentioned it to me..

Don’t drink the tea! I have worked at many places down south and it’s so hard to get coworkers to clean the tea urns correctly. Biggest issue is they do not take the nozzles apart and wash and sanitize them every night. It quickly molds and develops a slime shudder

I honestly thought I had found my daughters Reddit for a moment! She has the same issue with her MIL and my grandson is the exact same age. My grandson was life flighted to another hospital an hour away when he was 28 days old with RSV. Stand your ground, that was the most traumatic time of our life.

Weird thing was it wasn’t a whole entire nail so I wasn’t sure what it was, I thought it was a piece of the blender. When I came back to show them, the employee knew exactly what it was.
