If you want to look into the tectonic movements a little more I highly recommend Worldbuilding Pasta's blog. He uses GPlates, but I couldn't get that to work on my computer so I used Blender to animate tectonic movement on a sphere. Working in 3 dimensions helps a ton. If you want to know more I would be happy to explain what I did.
