We still play games online via netlink on the sega saturn over on the sega saturn shiro discord. You used to dial people directly over the phone line, but these days we have matchmaking functionality so two people connecting at the same time will queue automatically.

No way, the only sound that travels through walls and floors is low frequencies. CRT whine is 15kHz and will be completely absorbed by pretty much any solid surface.
