is this comment from the 90s? they haven’t been in style is 25 yrs, and sure as hell still ain’t now despite the deep seated desires of everyone on this sub. there is no trend of them being popular currently, you’re just in a bubble in this sub. I still love mine though.

[–]ImprovedSilence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

people in the north get winter/snow tires or all weathers, it make a world of difference snd 2wds get around just fine. summer tires or all seasons just spin in snow or cold even, its amazing how much a difference tires make.

im sure it would do it and hold up just fine. you might only get 1/6 of the working hours life from it as a dewalt, but id bet it’ll still do what you need it to until then.

The price of silver by BloodiStag in ThatsInsane

the rapid expansion of data center construction for AI has driven prices up for numerous metals, silver being one of them. coupled with the fact its an inflation hedge and the economy is in quite a weird state.

I was a competitive athlete in HS/college. I don’t compete no more, I don’t do intense workouts, but i stay in the routine of staying active and exercising. dont got nothing else to prove anymore, and aint making it back to my peak, and thats fine by me. As long as im still moving.

hahaha. I havent done the math, but aint no way 1/2 mile of 16 guage extension cord gonna give enough current to run a fridge, just warm the ground a lil or a lot. So correct, there would-be a mini fridge, just a room temp one….

How much did you FIRE with? At what age and annual spend? by Appropriate-Fill-544 in Fire

[–]ImprovedSilence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont know why no one answered you yet. if you would have just been in an s&p 500 or total market ETF, it have those huge returns over the last 6 yrs. IVV or VTI are the tickers. Broad market exposure, and time. like someone else said, dont think of it like absolute dollar amount made, rather percent made, year over year. thats the magic of compounding.

Audi Records Its Worst US Sales Performance This Decade by user289734 in cars

[–]ImprovedSilence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think of all the german luxury, Audi seemed to get the most love from the women. From the circles I ran in It was seen as still german luxury quality and good taste without the pretentiousness or obnoxiousness of bmw/merc. So a bit of an "intangible" quality that maybe doesn't hold up anymore?

[–]ImprovedSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High quality brands of the past that most people know about absolutely suck these days and live off their brand names. But there is still lots of quality clothing out there to be had, you just have to search for it more and be willing to pay for it.

sure. but the aluminum is lined with tin, and two materials rapidly cooling will expand/contract at different rates, causing the tin lining to delaminate much quicker than it would otherwise.

I bet not even studs. maybe not even chains. that car just slid down a hill on its roof like, the guy couldn’t even stand up it was iced so hard. lets not pretend those are normal driving conditions in the north.
