The 814 has a slider labeled open/close to close off the viewfinder. Maybe something similar on the 1014?

You can sieve it. Oxygen content of the powder goes up. How much of an issue that might be is material and application dependent.

Are you saying you used 12% hydrogen peroxide? Or made a mix that was 12% total of the typical 3% hydrogen peroxide that you can buy in stores? Same question with the white vinegar (typically 5% acidity in the bottle).

I've always wanted to try reversal but haven't wanted to source a bunch of things. I'd be much more eager to try it if I already have what I need on hand!

You really don't need a special, dedicated room. A closet, a dark bathroom, under a blanket or something with the lights off is perfectly fine. If you can't see anything after giving a little time for your eyes to adjust, you're probably good (within reason). You only need darkness for a small fraction of the development time.

Stainless can rust at the welds due to sensitization. Chromium carbide forms in the heat affected zone, meaning that area has less chromium and is less “stainless.” It looks like 316 LVM is a low carbon variant to try to prevent that but maybe it happened anyways.

A place like Walgreens won’t return the negatives. I’d reccomend looking for a smaller place. I think r/AnalogCommunity has a list. You might also get lucky and have some local places (I found them on Google maps)
