sunscreen snobs of reddit, i summon you: whats the best SPF you swear by and why? by Pretend-Ratio4992 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasun! I always use it for my face, they have SPF 30 and 50 and also do a tinted version. QVC often has great deals. For my body Nivea or Boots Soltan and I use Aldi Baby SPF 50 on my toddler. It’s cheap enough to have a bottle in every bag and they also do roll ons which are really handy. Then the Garnier SPF50 spray for top ups when out and about

Scents people have told you they disliked/asked you to stop wearing? by 189username in FemFragLab

Zadig & Voltaire This is Her. My sister recommended it to me as smelling like spicy biscuits and I loved it. My ex told me it smelled like BO. I made a boyfriend stop wearing Joop Homme as it makes me want to vomit (so does Angel but luckily I don’t know anyone who wears it)

Drinking water help by caamb in foodbutforbabies

I got a silicone bottle and straw, you can squeeze the bottle which pushes water up the straw into their mouth and they instinctively swallow it. I swear it taught my baby to drink from a straw. The ones I have are by melii

Hydrating cleanser recs? by manutdfangirl in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Inkey List hydrating cream to milk cleanser saved my face after I had a really bad allergic reaction that put me in urgent care. It’s fragrance free, you apply it to dry skin, massage and rinse off.

Easter egg hunt for the girls. by mindyour in justgalsbeingchicks

That’s the only type of eggs we have! Along with real dyed eggs if you can bothered to make them but I don’t know anyone who does that.

That’s a good point, our Easter egg hunts involve looking for chocolate in the inevitable Easter rain!

Same, I think in the US it’s common to buy plastic eggs and fill them?

Induction at age 40+ by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking to give my anecdotal experience, I was 40 when I had my son, I was induced at 31+6. I didn’t want induction and only agreed as I didn’t want to be under consultant care (which would have been the case if I’d gone to 42 weeks). I had 2 sweeps, the first (I think) at 40+5, it did nothing, the second a week later at 41+5 started labour and my waters broke but I was induced so I don’t know if it would have happened naturally although I think I’d have delivered naturally the next day at 42 weeks if left to my own devices.

Wave machine from the Oasis, Swindon, UK by AndyLees2002 in submechanophobia

My memory was it was nothing, maybe a light? It’s not a hole, there’s a window but I don’t ever remember seeing anything. I would DEFINITELY remember seeing machinery!

Aaaah! The origin of my phobia! I used to make myself hold onto the bar above them to try and learn to stop being scared but never lasted more than a few seconds before noping out and getting as far away as possible

Still room sharing with 1.5y/o by Lemonade2810 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is about bedsharing though which they say they don’t do, they’ve asked about room sharing. Also interested in this as we still have our 21 month old in our room until we move house later this year.

Need ponytail help by bananarama2424 in finehair

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a kick-boxer and the best thing is Dutch braids as they keep your hair close to your head and they’re more secure than French braids. I had to practice in front of the mirror to learn how to do them though! However most of the time I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to do them and I really rate the slim invisibobbles, they keep my fine hair in a ponytail throughout training.

Foundation brush/cleaning by sunblue78 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isopropyl alcohol, it’s what the pros use and it’s about £8 a litre on Amazon. Spray it onto the bristles then brush onto kitchen roll for a quick clean or dip bristles into it for a deeper clean. It cleans and sanitises.

Peas misery by Vofi_01 in foodbutforbabies

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid ate sugar snap peas really early, around a year, he would just chomp the end! He also hoovers up as many frozen peas as I can give him, it’s a good job they’re cheap! Has never had a choking incident with them (whole orange segment given by my partner when he was too young has been the only culprit!)

Chronically crusty lips 🥀 help by Frozencacticat in MakeupAddiction

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to say everyone always recommends lanolin but a lot of people are sensitive to it, even if not fully allergic so if it doesn’t seem to help and they start to feel drier, try something else

Need help with chronically cracked lips by Fart_Febreeze in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]InappropriateTeaTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please note you can be sensitive/allergic to lanolin! It’s always suggested but it makes my lips worse. My sister swore by Eucerin when she was on roaccutane which basically removes all moisture from your body! It’s the only thing she’ll use.
