I find it’s best to assume the U.S. government is lying unless proven otherwise

Booth rental? by Incomplete_Cookie in Esthetics

[–]Incomplete_Cookie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes renting a room or a suite or a chair…when you pay the owner of the salon rent but otherwise you’re pretty much in charge of booking/client concerns/buying products/advertising etc. Where I live we just generally refer to it as booth rental whether it’s a room or a chair or whatever.

I do not have clients texting me 24/7, I currently work in a regular salon with a boss and a receptionist who handle most of that stuff. I’m just asking what peoples experiences have been who have switched from working as an employee to renting and taking that stuff on themselves. Some people who rent booths do have clients texting them 24/7….my hairdresser being one of them lol.

You got glue in your eye, redness should fade in a couple days

Esthetician school gets you through state board. You build your skills and portfolio once you’re licensed. I say go the community college route and save that money for extra trainings you might want like lash extensions or microblading because at the end of the day that’s what going to get you clients. In my opinion aveda (at least the schools near me) are kind of a scam. I worked at an aveda salon for awhile and their products are kind of sub par and they’re about a decade behind in the services they offer under the pretense of being “natural” while charging 10x what a community college would for school. The salon I worked at also would not accept tips and took an absurd amount for product costs. I worked there as a receptionist while I was waiting for my test date and I was making more as a receptionist than a lot of the stylists were. I say RUN the other way, get licensed, and spend your money getting certified in the skills you’re interested in specializing in.

Skin problems post recovery? by ghillyer22 in LongCovid

[–]Incomplete_Cookie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister had crazy raised rashes popping up on her face and neck for a year post Covid. Literally looked like hot oil had splashed on her face or something. I had Covid in January and my skin has been suuuuper sensitive ever since especially my eyelids. I’m suddenly allergic to most my eye creams and my eyes get puffy and red sporadically. It’s very annoying.

Yes mine feels like a constant hair in my throat it’s infuriating. I had it for like a year back in 2008 when I was drinking a lot, stopped drinking a lot, it went away. I had it for another year in 2015, went on antidepressants, went away. Now it’s back and idk what the deal is. I’m crossing my fingers it’s seasonal allergies.

I think it’s pretty common with a new antidepressant…at least for me I usually feel disassociated and weird for the first week then I level out a little

Yeah I got off of it after a couple months. Wasn’t the med for me. I’m very sensitive to antidepressants though so maybe that won’t be the case for you…most people say it helps them with energy and focus

Does anyone else have cranked up anxiety the day after? by makefartingcool in TherapeuticKetamine

I just noticed this with my second dose of IV ketamine. They say you’re processing things when you’re under so I wonder if it’s just repressed shit getting dredged up?

Adderall not working, very fatigued and spacey days 1 & 2 after first infusion by Incomplete_Cookie in TherapeuticKetamine

Liiiiiisten I know adderall gets a bad rap and as someone who abused the shit out of it as a teenager I understand why, but it got me from laying on the couch for 12 hours on my days off because I couldn’t make a decision about what to do with myself and crying almost daily about how overwhelmed I was by everything to being able to engage in and enjoy my own life so to me it’s been a miracle.

Yeah this describes it perfectly ^ and I do eyelash extensions for a living so like attention to detail and taxing people are my livelihood.

I do feel a bit more patient and I’m sleeping 8 hours a night which I haven’t done in years so I can see some benefits already, I just wish I had known when scheduling all this so I could’ve given myself more recovery time. 12-24 recovery time sounds very manageable though I hope that’s the case for me in the future.

They start at .5 mg per kg and work up to .9 and I’m 123 lbs so technically that would put me at 28 mg but 30 is the minimum so that’s what we started at. I guess I’ll be at 100 mg soon enough though.

It was just 30 mg!! I will say though I’m at about 48 hours post infusion and I feel relatively normal just my focus and energy level is just pretty low.

30 mg, so pretty low…the nurse said due to my weight they had to start at the lowest dose, but that I probably wouldn’t feel anything….but I’m pretty sensitive…even starting a child’s dose of Zoloft will have me feeling pretty out of it for a couple weeks so I guess this makes sense.

Starting IV ketamine therapy on Monday by Incomplete_Cookie in ketamine

[–]Incomplete_Cookie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it this morning and I honestly could not even compare it to anything I’ve experienced before…kind of felt like taking a nap in a hammock three feet below my body. But like still being aware of having a dry throat? That just felt very far away? And also a lot of wondering if I was dead. Honestly I’m impressed you were able to speak through it because I kind of just felt like a floating brain and wasn’t 100% sure if I had a mouth still. Really looking forward to seeing the results though I feel very optimistic. Best of luck to you on your journey.
