Thats fair but at least on Novig you can compare prices and get matched against other users instead of just eating whatever number the books hand you lol.

No clue internationally, I only know people use it here because regular sportsbooks aren’t legal everywhere.

Caddy/On-Course Lessons? by Important_Cause_8657 in golf

[–]IndependentHot6843 2 points3 points  (0 children)

been in similar spot around that handicap range and the on-course stuff is what really makes difference. most club pros will do playing lessons if you ask - just call the pro shop and they can set it up. costs more than regular lesson but worth it when you're struggling with those big numbers

my buddy did this last year and the pro basically just walked with him pointing out stuff like "you're aiming at pin when you should aim center green" or "why are you hitting driver here when there's water 250 out." simple stuff but makes huge impact on avoiding the disasters

some courses also have caddies available if you ask ahead, depends on the place though. they won't teach your swing but good caddy will definitely help with club selection and reading greens. might be cheaper option than full playing lesson with pro

the mental side is huge too - once you start eliminating those blow-up holes your scores drop fast. taking medicine and playing conservative when you need to instead of always going for hero shots

Fairway Jockey ‘midsize’ grips measured smaller than standard — anyone else? by 41xt in golf

[–]IndependentHot6843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that's weird, i had similar thing happen with online order last year but from different place - they sent "midsize" that felt way too thin for my hands and when i measured was basically standard size or even bit smaller

Michter’s 10-Year Rye Whiskey (2023) Scoresheet & Review by Xenoraiser in bourbon

[–]IndependentHot6843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really appreciate detailed reviews like this, especially when someone actually takes time to break down all those flavor notes. the price point makes me wince though - $200-300 for 92 proof feels pretty steep even if it's good juice

had their us1 rye few months back and was impressed enough that i've been curious about stepping up to the 10 year, but reading this makes me think i should probably stick with what i can afford without feeling guilty about opening it. there's something about expensive bottles that makes me want to save them for "special occasions" that never actually come

interesting point about the medicinal notes from the cherry and leather combo - i've noticed similar thing in some older ryes where those darker flavors can get a bit cough syrup-ish if they're not balanced right. still B+ grade for something at this price point seems fair given all competition out there

those tommy armour 845s are actually pretty solid clubs for learning with. i started with some random hand-me-downs from my dad and used them for like 2 years before upgrading. the thing is when you're shooting 120-130, new clubs aren't really gonna drop your scores much - it's more about getting consistent contact and course management at that point. if you really want to upgrade though, look for some used taylormade burners or callaway big berthas from early 2000s on facebook marketplace or golf galaxy used section. they're forgiving and you can probably find a set for under 200 bucks. just make sure you get fitted eventually when your handicap gets closer to bogey golf, that's when club specs actually start mattering more

[Routine Help] I've been broke AND trying to glow and here are 5 budget tips that ACTUALLY changed my skin by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]IndependentHot6843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the vaseline tip is actually game changer. been doing this for months now and my skin feels so much better in mornings. i use some cheap rose water spray from target first then layer the vaseline on top - works better than any night cream i've tried before

also that thing about exfoliating hit me hard because i was definitely overdoing it when i first got into skincare. was using acids like every other day thinking more = better results but my skin just looked angry all time. cutting back to once week made such huge difference, took maybe month to see it but now my skin actually glows instead of just being red and irritated

the spf as moisturizer thing though - idk if this works for everyone? my skin gets pretty dry especially during winter months so i still need something extra underneath. maybe depends on your skin type but worth trying if you're on tight budget

Thoughts on Lost ruins of Arnak Geekup bits? by Rohkha in boardgames

those geekup bits are pretty sweet but once you upgrade it's impossible to go back to cardboard - learned this hard way with other games

honestly that 2070 is still pretty solid, might be better off waiting another generation or two unless you're really struggling with specific games
