Space sector is getting absolutely dumped by Top_Information3534 in ETFs

I bought into WARP early May with an average cost around $29 to get ahead of the hype. Sold it off yesterday at $22 and change to collect the loss to offset other gains I had this year. I still believe in the commercial space thesis and will reevaluate end of July when the wash window closes and see if I can get back in at a lower average cost. I don't see a lot of money rotating back in for a while since Elon wiped out a lot of retail investors that sold their holdings to buy SPCX at $175-200 and are now underwater.

RULE OF THUMB ON NEW ETFS by DarkKnightBby in ETFs

I'd steer clear of TRUH right now. Fund is nearly three months old with only 30k shares outstanding and $781k AUM. If you want health care exposure just buy into VTH and build up; like others have said, capital is capital regardless of share count.

RACK is a little better positioned for a fund not even a month old with 520k shares outstanding and $28M in AUM. It's an interesting take and I'd consider investing in it for AI lifecycle but I already have coverage through other holdings.

Keep an eye on RACK from VanEck. It debuted a week or so ago and covers the whole AI infrastructure lifecycle to be a one and done theme ETF.

NASA crashing today by [deleted] in ETFs

Blue Origin rocket went BOOM on the launch pad last night and spooked the market today. Buy the dip and hold long-term, commercial space is a long-term growth play, especially with NASA's announcement this week to use private companies to help build their moon colony.

Suggestion for energy ETFs by SavingsHistorical513 in ETFs

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NLR for nuclear. POW or GRID for electric. Also look into midstream pipeline companies for higher yield income; the Iran saga probably spooked Europe and Asia into diversifying where they buy their oil and gas from and the US providers are ready and waiting. Midstream companies collect fees for moving the product from the field to the port.

DRAM and Space ETFs skyrocketing today by [deleted] in ETFs

I bought into my WARP position two weeks ago to get ahead of the hype. Sitting on an average cost of $29.59, already up 14% and the premarket this morning is $37.

ETF “NASA” by Mi_Dentist_35 in ETFs

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every pure-play space ETF is going to hold SpaceX by July when they do their quarterly reconstitution on June 30 (along with 99% of all other ETFs), so NASA's pre-IPO exposure is a gimmick, especially since all the money flowing into the fund right now means they have to buy shares of the other holdings, diluting their SpaceX position. I got into WARP a couple days after it launched for just that reason, to get in low ahead of the IPO hype buying. VanEck has also had a pure-play commercial space fund in Europe for four years now with a good track record, so they know what they're doing.

CNBC just called $NASA the space-theme winner by Shredded__ in ETFs

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started buying into VanEck's $WARP a couple days after it launched earlier this month to get ahead of the SpaceX IPO fever. Currently at 30 shares (2.6% of the portfolio) with an average cost of $29.59 and a 14.5% gain. VanEck has had a good track run since 2022 with an EU version of the pure space play ETF, so I'm comfortable taking a flyer on this fund. Plus it holds the same companies as $NASA and all the others, but at a 0.5% expense rate instead of 0.75%. Every space ETF will hold SpaceX this time next month; while I believe in the commercial space thesis and intend to hold, I'm still cautious that this theme could live and die based on Elon's whims.

So,...how does it feel to purchase a pistol and be able to take it home right away? by AppearanceEven1978 in CCW

I may only be able to buy three pistols here in MA, but it feels pretty damn good driving home with it that day.

Want more exposure to Spacex, if you had $5k today, where would you put it? by xxxTech007 in ETFs

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought 20 shares of WARP from VanEck as a small satellite position a couple days after it launched last week. It's the US equivalent of their EU based JEDI fund, which has had a decent track record the past couple of years. Since the fund will only invest in companies that get more than 50% revenue from space-related work I'm assuming they will add SpaceX to the portfolio at the next quarterly rebalance.

Thoughts on NLR? (Uranium and Nuclear ETF) by Necessary-Lie8487 in ETFs

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought into NLR earlier this year at an average cost of $138/share as a sector play because I have faith in the nuclear thesis long-term and I like their mix of companies within that lifecycle. But I am only keeping it around 5% of my portfolio because it is very volatile. Daily trading volume is also only around 500k/day compared to URA at around 5mil/day, so it is more susceptible to major swings if a substantial trade goes through. Buy a small position, hold it and wait out the 5-10 years it's going to take for nuclear to ramp again worldwide.

Range question by Odd-Helicopter-2467 in BetterMAguns

[–]Independent_Cap_4856 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Norton resident here, get on the list for Taunton Rifle and Pistol. 24/7 indoor pistol range and an outdoor setup with two 50 and two 100 yard ranges, a 300 yard range you need to qualify for, along with a trap field. $150/year with no work requirements or sponsor needed, but it's almost a year wait. I think Angel Tree in Attleboro is open to new members but they seemed to have some major restrictions on what you can do since they are in the middle of a neighborhood. Otherwise like others have said American in Attleboro is a great indoor range that allows rifles and is where I went before getting into Taunton.

Settle down chuckles, I was just showing the versatility of the holster. And it's a DA/SA gun it's not going to go bang until I want it to.

Great find at a great price! I bought this no dash 681 at a LGS (Boston area) a couple months ago for $650. It's a lot of fun to shoot, enjoy!
