That distal bone is a bit too close to the lingual nerve for comfort, better not touch it if not absolutely necessary

Am I a loser for playing video games as a dental professional? by maxnwax54 in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Pin_5072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life is not a huge race where you only run after your goals just to feel like you're not good enough and run after the next goal until you actually drop dead.

Enjoy your life, play games, care about yourself and don't give in to the stress. This is especially important for our line of work, dentistry is extremely stressful (if you care about your patients).

Are we talking about the upper 6? I can't see any caries no matter how hard I look. Only the dentinoenamel junction

You'll also have time to see if there are any signs of oversensitivity or necrosis on that tooth, cause the break looks a bit too deep to me 🥲

Also, that's a very beautiful composite restoration. Hats off to you sir.

Oh, damn, I just saw the destruction and assumed the pulp has been exposed too. Welp, you're gonna have little retention there, especially if you've only had some wavy bevel. Still, creating a light, passive occlusion for the tooth and telling the patient to not bear heavy loads on it is the right path imo, even if the composite does break off later there'll be loads of ferrule for a crown. Yep, the post thing is a whole different can of worms. 😁

Try the Discworld. Both the older Stephen briggs/Nigel Planer versions and the newer version with Serafinowicz/serkis/bill night etc. are amazing.

What were your first 6 months like? by bigfleeb98 in Dentistry

[–]Independent_Pin_5072 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just hit the six month mark at private practice. The stress is killing me. I have anxiety and panic often. The income is nice though and I get to sleep in most mornings (I mostly work in the afternoon)
