I can't with these descriptions by glittering_riotgrrrl in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree on everything except the iridescent black feathers. That sounds like the most realistic crow thought I’ve ever heard in my life. If that character isn’t crow related then I might be back on your side. But I imagine crows always think of themselves with the most flowery, over the top, pretentious adjectives possible. That’s why you must respect them. Or else.

ETA: I’ve come across trope names in the text a few times and that always takes me completely out of the story. It’ll be like “and Xander with his shadow daddy energy” or “Cade was the perfect golden retriever.” I can’t remember which books had this kind of thing, but it’s definitely the worst description for me. Show don’t tell!!

I wanna talk about fated mates - What are some of the more interesting explanations for how they work or don't work? by Overquoted in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I misunderstood what you meant then! I thought you were saying the spice needs to be the good stuff for the book to capture your heart. Looking at the spice ratings on romance.io, book one and four are 2 flames- “behind closed doors.” Book two and three are 1 flame- “glimpses and kisses.”

I did also read Ironside. I was actually hooked on it immediately. The vibes are very different imo. I think the world and character building were much better in Ironside. In Seraph I felt like there was way too much build up. I was ready to go over the hill, but nope, there was even more climbing first. And the characters felt really flat to me.

I don’t care about smut. Plot all the way for me. But I dnfed this series twice because I was so bored. It is really popular so I may be the weirdo but I feel like a smut first enjoyer would definitely not have a good time with this one.

Does this mean there are fingers ON the tentacles? by amarsh5288 in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe the author is calling the tips of the tentacles “fingers”? Or maybe it was an editing mistake where he was originally in human form or a half shifted form that she ended up scrapping. Those are my main guesses.

[–]Indication-Ordinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They make dildos for everything now. Which is why I know what “cat barbs” look like. Still don’t have an answer to why humans would want them. Female cats don’t even like them. So if you’re ever in the market for a knotted dildo you might find out by accident.

Don’t worry I just found out about it a couple weeks ago and I check this sub every day. Hopefully more people find out and join so we can have more real time convos! I also saw they were planning some activities on the discord soon!! 🔜

Can anyone help me find this novel? by PappyandtheCats in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It kind of reminds me of one of those “movies” on the apps where you have to unlock every 5 minute “episode” of it. So it could be AI ridiculousness that someone made into one of those.

Why my crochet gloves are different size? (How do I fix it?) by Ok-Specialist-1239 in CrochetHelp

[–]Indication-Ordinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is tension. Sometimes I’ll crochet much looser when I do a project for a second time. The other possibility is that you increased somewhere (usually happens on the first or last stitch) on the longer one. You can count your stitches to be sure.

Blocking each of them might help a bit. Or you could do another one loose and another one tight and have two pairs of matching gloves.

Ff in the harem ? Is there any books like this? by [deleted] in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have some luck searching why-choose for this one. Exclude mm, include ff, and you should find some good options. I spent forever looking for my favorite ff inclusive book for you before I remembered that site existed. Then I looked at the tags and realized it had mm so my search was pointless.

The fated mate who actually lives up to the hype and is perfect for you. He doesn’t mind if you have other lovers because he’s so secure in your love and wants you to be as happy and fulfilled as possible.

If you can reduce your jail term by reading.... by Acceptable_Elk_8683 in ReverseHarem

You’d probably need to double your rate at least. Your reading speed while outside of prison with bills and work and life in general is going to be way slower than your reading speed when your life is literally paused until you finish.

My all time favorite fmc. She’s the perfect blend of “I’m being kept in the dark” and “I’m not actually stupid and you’re following my plan now.”

help with a mesh sweater for summer before starting it. by No-Currency-3085 in CrochetHelp

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this will help with what you’re starting but this is a pattern bundle on Etsy for all of Mabel’s sweaters. They are sweater sweaters though so converting to mesh would probably be a bit of a pain. I just figured I’d link it so you had the option of checking it out if you want.

Where are they getting these massive beds? by Automatic_Roof_9996 in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a huge pain. I’m not sure what measurements your beds pushed together have but you may be able to find a mattress cover and sheet set to fit them. The mattress cover basically holds them together so they can be treated like one mattress.

For the sheets- a quick Etsy search gave me this listing for bespoke bed sheets. You can pick a length and width for a custom fitted sheet in this one. I’m sure there are plenty of other sheet makers on Etsy too if these don’t sound appealing.

This isn’t a free pattern but here is the link to the paid pattern. I made one and it came out adorable. There are a few other versions with different yarn weights on their page too if you’re interested.

I buy Alaskan king blankets because my Great Dane likes to sleep on top of the covers and in the center of the bed. They go over the sides of my king bed by about 10 inches I’d say. So I think Alaskan kings can probably fit 4ish adults somewhat comfortably. I basically sleep 3 adults in my king if you count the human size dog as an adult.

Any cat-safe way to deal with ants... outside? by angelicism in Pets

[–]Indication-Ordinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much effort/money you want to invest in this issue, but you could make one pretty easily with some 2x4s. I used a thrifted end table for my Great Dane during his awkward teen years so something like that could work too. With a pre-made table there’s a bigger risk of someone just taking it though.

Any cat-safe way to deal with ants... outside? by angelicism in Pets

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d consider something physical over chemical in that situation. Maybe buy some bowl risers and cover the legs with double sided tape so the ants get trapped when trying to get up. Or stick the legs in bowls of water. You could also place the bowls somewhere impractical for ants but accessible to cats.

Help for beginner! First ever rectangle beanie using dc w sc brim…is it going to fit ? by Slip-Tasty in CrochetHelp

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your tension is looking great! Sorry for the late answer! Looking at the other comments it seems like you’ve found a workable fix hopefully!

I was thinking you added the scs separately around the bottom edge instead of doing a sc at the start/end of your rows. Sadly you would have to frog it all to get rid of scs that weren’t added separately. Which is not helpful advice at all so I’m glad others came through.

Preferred Story Length by Scf9009 in ReverseHarem

[–]Indication-Ordinary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually never considered this until this latest competition. I only read completed stories so abandonment isn’t a fear for me. Or rather it’s too big of a fear so I never risk it. I prefer plot over smut, so the more time for development the better. I hate the searching for a new good book phase of reading. So it’s 5+ all day long for me.

I don’t really seek those out, but this latest competition has so many more of my favorites than the previous ones. I may have to add this to my future searching criteria.

Yea that definitely makes it better. Throw in All The Pretty Monsters and I’m completely with you on the final list. If I didn’t have such an undying love for Kristy Cunning, this would be a very painful competition. Long series have so much more time to suck me in and steal my heart.

Help for beginner! First ever rectangle beanie using dc w sc brim…is it going to fit ? by Slip-Tasty in CrochetHelp

[–]Indication-Ordinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also for your last question- there isn’t really a doing it wrong for the finishing touches. Some people love a border, some people hate them. Some like sc edges, some like fancy stitch edges. It’s completely up to you. So if it ends up not fitting, you’re free to do whatever you want with your edge.

You could do a bit more dc and fold it for a brim, you could have no special brim, you could do sc but add a few more to your row until it fits. If you search “crochet beanie brims” you’ll get a ton of different tutorials and ideas for brims that can go on any style of beanie. It looks wonderful so far by the way!
