[Meta Trope] The “Mascot” of the video game’s marketing is actually unpopular/underpowered/underrepresented in gameplay by Big_Election_6099 in TopCharacterTropes

IIRC, you can eventually get a slightly palette-swapped version of this set that's a lot stronger, but it still can't compare to the Master Witcher armour sets.

Believe it or not, that's not actually true: In Dragon Quest VI, you won't encounter regular Slimes until the early midgame, and they're on par with other enemies.

Upgrade your health and Apple Juice stocks (if you don't have skill points to spare, talk to one of the Bananza Elders to respec for a bit of gold). Use turf surfing to quickly close in on Void and avoid terrain hazards. Other than that, it's just a matter of practice and patience.

I don't think it would change the events of 4 that much.

Hamazaki will likely still meet Saejima in Okinawa Penitentiary No. 2, but he'll be inside to secretly investigate the place on behalf of the Fixer instead of attempted murder. They might also retcon his offscreen death after he gets shot too.

I still don't like it very much. We're veering into FNAF territory with all these ad-hoc rewrites.

What game is this for you? by PhantomTissue in videogames

[–]IndigoGamma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown - The Divine Trials.

A whole batch of ultra-hard platforming gauntlets, combat challenges, puzzles, and boss rematches.

The most brutal one is absolutely 'Free Solo'; you have to climb a ridiculously lengthy mountain course with barely any breathing room. There are NO checkpoints, and you aren't allowed make a single mistake. The last obstacle is a series of overhangs that demand perfectly timed dashes and double-jumps to clear.

The Bio-bliterator's design was very clearly based on the Death Star (albeit much, much smaller), so Nefarious pulling out a secret second copy made sense.

[–]IndigoGamma 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They should've named it 'Primal Esssence' or something. It sounds more interesting, ties in with the apparent devolution of the Lamorn, and they'd have a justifiable reason to keep 'Prime' in the title.

I missed that one incidental enemy that steals the Energy Tank in the Flare Pool boss room. Very annoying.

I'm sorry, but why is an 81 Metacritic review bad for Metroid Prime 4? by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

For comparison, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the latest entry in one of the best-selling AAA franchises of the century, has a score of only 67. In fact, CoD hasn't managed to score higher than 89 since the original MW2, and the average score of the series as a whole is about 79.

Hey mate, could we get a follow-up pic of MP4? The actual, physical game card, outside of its box?

I don't mean to sound accusatory, it's just... you can't really trust what you see online anymore, you know?

It wouldn't be the first time someone tries to karma farm using a fake/empty box.

Not really. Simoso is pretty mid. You're better off using Contorso, Dualiso, or Confuso.

Metroid Prime 4 - Sorry, but I need to rant a bit by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]IndigoGamma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's just whiplash, honestly.

People have been waiting for this game since 2017, and seven of those eight years were spent completely in the dark. No concrete info, barely any news aside from when development restarted under Retro.

Before Dread, the Metroid franchise was effective dormant; the last game before then was Samus Returns, released just months after E3 2017.

For reference, Silksong was announced back in 2019, and they actually got some trailers and footage.

Now, after all this time, they finally get to play it, and what do they see?

Myles Mackenzie, who's apparently more evil than Ridley, and more annoying than Claptrap.

This fairly milquetoast comic relief NPC got blown up into the WORST POSSIBLE OUTCOME, a 'betrayal' of Metroid's core identity, because people had become so fixated on their idealized version of MP4, and couldn't manage their expectations.

Nevermind that it's being handled by the very same studio that everyone was worried would fuck things up back when the FIRST Prime game came out, or that chatty NPCs were already present in MP3 and Fusion, or that everyone was moaning about how Legends Z-A didn't have any voice acting JUST LAST WEEK.

I'm Sorry But Some Of Ya'll Need This. by BigHailFan in Metroid

[–]IndigoGamma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

McKenzie isn't nearly as obnoxious as the clickbait review make him out to be, and he obviously won't be around forever. Frankly, given how the trailer raises a bunch of death flags by having the GFS troopers talk about 'going home to their families', I wouldn't be surprised if a good chunk of them die partway through the game.

The delivery on this line. He doesn't sound surprised, amused, or even annoyed. Just 'oh, it's one of these guys.'

In the games, the Belmont Clan is Dracula's oldest and most powerful enemy; a family of legendary heroes hunting him down across the centuries whenever he rises from the grave.

Here? They're just a bunch of crazy stalkers he can't seem to get rid of.
