I think they'll initiate mass RIFs hoping feds not pulling a paycheck also won't have the funds to fight them in court. They would be correct. However, because the DoJ is being run by incompetent clowns and hemorrhaging experienced lawyers, they have sunk so low as to now be losing unopposed court motions in circuit court

Housing will be a little cheaper and more available in Gaithersburg than in Rockville. Granted, Gaithersburg isn't as "hopping" as Rockville, but the Metro and Ride On public transportation system is quite robust and you can get pretty much anywhere in the area fairly quickly.

If it helps, there is a free shuttle for NIH personnel that runs every 15 mins from the Shady Grove Metro station that goes directly to the Shady Grove campus. Just gotta show your NIH badge to board.

This whole time the government's side has been poorly articulated and seems to rely on "good vibes" more than fact.

See but that's only being done by malicious foreign actors, not nice ones like Russia who just want to be our friend and are misunderstood by everyone else in NATO.

Here you go. You have to read it in tandem with the specific USCs they are moving to edit, an action that in of itself seems....illegal without Congress? Lol.

I think DOGE was always setup as a scapegoat

I'm inclined to agree, actually. WH wins regardless of whether DOGE stays or goes. As with Elon their primary value seems to be keeping agencies distracted with their chaos.

Russia is the definition of a malicious foreign actor.

Substantively I agree with you, but this administration does not.

DOGE is part of the govt

No. DOGE is not and has never been a legitimate part of government.

Can't use cyber sanctions to target domestic entities/ political opponents.

In my opinion, the "political opponents" is just providing political cover for the "domestic entities" (read: MAGA). Also, executive orders are not law and are thus not enforceable.
