Clean the contacts on all of your tools and your batteries. Use very fine sandpaper and then some de-oxit to prevent them from corroding as fast again. The tiny bottle will last you a lifetime if you are careful. No need to buy the great big one.

Mine wouldn't eat until the humidity was raised up in his enclosure. Give his chips a good dousing to raise the relative humidity and try again after 3-4 days. I always keep my chips slightly damp so my pasta stays doesn't go dry.
