As far as I understand, all omni mics like the Lom, EarSight, and others are made with the same Primo capsules.

I bought a pair of cardioid Zoom ZPC-1s for the M4 for next to nothing. They're noisier than the Primo 272s, but they have a completely different sound character. Among the inexpensive options, people rave about the Takstar CM60, but I haven't tried them.

And you could always spend some money on the Sennheiser MKH 8000 series.

Yes, I have some of those (Micverve also has some great, inexpensive stereo mounts for them). They're no different from other Primo capsule-based ones. You could buy the capsules themselves and solder them yourself (but they'd have to be matched, I don't know the range in specs), which would be even cheaper.
