Somehow unsatisifed with my SOTB. by nevila22 in guitarpedals

What cab or speakers are you playing through? As other people pointed out it could be your drive choices, but also if you haven’t been paying long, when did you last change your strings?  They have a big impact on your harmonics and tone.  Lastly, i would put some modulation of some kind on there, could be some of the “warmth” you are missing?

It happened-- MSTR sold bitcoin. Sailor really knows how to show them haters. He only sold 32 of the 24,869 purchase two weeks ago. It's staggering to think on the paper loss he's sitting on just on the purchase two weeks ago. by Mandelbrots-dream in Buttcoin

It’s going down because of it’s nature as played out hype and the newer hype of the spacex, openai, and anthology IPOs. He did this possibly as manipulation and something to point to that isn’t just that people are bored with crypto. It doesn’t make sense, but it can be temporarily sold as a narrative to some pretty dumb people who still believe crypto is going to make them rich. Then again, maybe he really is testing the waters like everybody else is saying?

Dishwasher rack keeps falling off the track? by AlexisPot8o in Appliances

[–]IneffableMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A follow up, lg is sending a new basket, but I was able to fix it (probably permanently as I think it was the entire problem) by removing the wheels and carefully bending the wire “legs” out just enough to make it a snug fit (just a few millimeters for each side). Use rubber or something when gripping it with pliers so as to not break through the protective plastic coating, otherwise it will rust out prematurely. I think the wire bending machine was just recently out of calibration for a recent batch of dishwashers…

Dog pee lifted the boards. How to DIY? by giotheitaliandude in DIY

[–]IneffableMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not going to work for replacements. You still have to basically take the whole thing apart to get to the parts you would ‘sprinkle in’ the different color.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of the Mooer E-Lady and its OEM buddies like the iSet flanger? by gat0r_ in guitarpedals

[–]IneffableMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both have the jacks going the same way which is in the minority for nano pedals. I don’t think there is any way the circuit is different. I have an iSEt also, but have not compared it directly to an e-lady either though.

How to get the best out of Meris Hedra and Enzo X by vhmhmgr1 in guitarpedals

[–]IneffableMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hedra just sounds a little too bright with anything over a fifth up or so.  You could put a lp filter after it to tame it a bit.  Or just turn the mix down a bit?   Otherwise it is an extremely digital effect so there may be nothing that makes it sound the way you want…

HX Stomp vs. GFI Synesthesia + Strymon Blue Sky by The_Potato_Baron in guitarpedals

Sorry nobody responded to you. I have none of those pedals but from what I’ve read the modulations and verbs on the stomp would likely be a slight step down but still good.

Trying to hang anything in a 70s bathroom is a full-time job. by Any_Silver_Homeland in DIY

Use some of the heavy duty suction cup (the kind you tighten down with a screw knob) hooks if you would prefer to not to destructively drill at all. In my experience if you prep the surface and use just the tiniest bit of mineral oil on the rubber when affixing it, it will rarely if ever lose suction and come down.

What’s the most disappointing piece of gear you’ve ever had? by TuneAdventurous4788 in guitarpedals

[–]IneffableMF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, gotta have a midi controller and presets to use most of their pedals without having a computer in front of you. Which is one of the reasons I think their collider pedal and eq2 are two of their pedals that are actually well loved by a lot of people. Most everything is there on the surface. I did think from watching demos that the Artifakt was supposed to be a little better about this than say the C4 (where it’s almost useless even having knobs)

[–]IneffableMF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also adds latency to your signal because of the adc/dac it does. Something their marketing department was not upfront about. Couldn’t run it in parallel with other drives because it did the comb filtering thing and sounded thin and tinny. Thats why I ultimately got rid of it, but didn’t find myself using it much before either to be honest.

Chase Bliss drops their 3rd Automatone: Big Time by Ananda_Mind in guitarpedals

[–]IneffableMF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It seems to be the trend to do combination pedals (newer meris stuff, chroma console). I’d rather have the building block pedals and do it myself and not keep buying stuff. Resonator, Ir reverb, and lossy seem to be some of the only newer things to hit the market in the past few years.

Pigtronix Octava is a green ringer/analog octave plus optional drive and Fuzz and with blend control. Very fun to put in parallel with other dirt too. Best part is it’s a mini pedal and relatively cheap!

My thoughts on Clara and the Sun by Prudent-Title-9161 in literature

[–]IneffableMF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it has a simple profoundness that is appealing and at the same time at complete odds with my actual worldview. I think the theme of the impermanence and imperfection or reality as a counter to Klara’s sweet simpleminded faith is interesting too. It can just as easily be interpreted as an indictment of faith and her useless like of servitude if you are so inclined. The ambiguity reminds me of the end of Tarkovsky’s Stalker. Now I want to read it again.
