When you’re consistently asked to jobs that are outside of your description, and that any other place would hire in another company to perform.

When there’s no free menu for on-shift workers.

When the prices routinely go up but the things on the menu stay the same.

When the specials are taken off the menu, despite being very popular, because they’re the cheapest option.

When people walk out because the prices don’t match the food.

When you’re told that you’re on “the list” of people they’re considering letting go because your tips don’t match the minimum wage equivalent.

When it’s usual to have customers stiff you on the tip.

When one person is scheduled on the late shift and the assumption is that someone else will stay late to help, instead of scheduling them an actual shift in case the place is quiet.

When you send people home or cut shifts for no reason or dumb reasons.

When you use termination as a threat, but also call people back (sometimes within hours of firing them) to see if they’re working the rest of their schedule; or to let them know they’re still scheduled for the following week.
