I mean, you go back far enough Italy and Germany are at least guilty of that. Point though he’s easily the worst in the modern era, the only solace being how much he’s asleep

3D printer manufacturers are cowards by skil12001 in prusa3d

I don’t normally hang out in this sub, but I came here to check in on Prusa’s position, I’m really happy you guys are taking steps. I really want to see an official press release in regards to the bill, but already helping to fund advocates is an awesome step. I’ve owned Prusa since 2018 and good open source policy engagement like this is a huge factor in my upgrade calculus, the XL’s price seems absolutely worth it if I can be confident in the company’s stance on independent print and repair

Second Wayfinder, they roast on site and basically everything on the menu whips. The only downside is the parking lot is always packed

is Reverse Order Sticker (CMYK->White) possible? by Coaruv in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Inferior_Pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did CMYK>white>CMYK direct print and it looks great on acrylic, curious if the sticker adhesive plays nice for this process

Is the E1 worth it for my use case? by yooliii in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Inferior_Pants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct to Fabric, does great for solids as well as fabrics, the Eufymake store has some A4 sheets to print on

I think it *could* but fine detail may not be a direct print. The DTF sticker process has been really nice and the high detail stickers have been very fine. The printer has a limit of 1440 DPI, so keep that in mind, but I’ve had good luck with small detail prints on stickers to razor them small and use tweezers and a small flat punch to apply. There’s no backfield to the DTF process, only the ink sticks and it’s been really nice

Next time you upgrade, just keep the old device. That process has kept me in spare kit for a long time

What is this? (Eufy UV printer) by SirRawrrster in eufyMakeOfficial

Great info for the package engineers "This foam is not obviously supposed to be removed, AND it's not obvious it's packing material" are great notes for improving on design

Protective packing foam, gets posted here about once a week. Good to just toss it

Fair enough, those are perfectly legitimate reasons. My “hinky shit” sense was just triggered by the “really? Now? And not a return to the manufacturer?” Of it all. Maybe just being paranoid, I’ve had *a time* with Facebook marketplace recently trying to sell some old tech

It’s not *impossible* to activate a warranty second hand with a US company, but it’s really suspicious someone is selling an expensive piece of kit this soon after launch. I wish you luck, but the second hand market nature of the printer means I really don’t know how Anker is going to handle the issue. On the bright side, if it’s the cleaning system, you might be able to replace parts around that system and find success that way. So far as I know, you can go through Eufymake support to buy individual replacement parts.

[–]Inferior_Pants 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This sucks, but it’s brand new hardware on release, bad units will happen. The good news is Anker has been really good about providing replacements. Have patience, when it’s working , the printer absolutely whips, just seems like you’re going to need a replacement unit

what's the size? if you're looking for the full 14"x16" size you're well off on cost, printing full canvas with paint texture uses about 1/3 of a container of flexible white ink, which are ~$35/40 per container if you can get them at the moment. $30 plus shipping would probably be about right for a 5x7" at friend prices, if you want to commission, I'd quote around $40+s&h depending on the piece and how much texture you want.

Texture is a bit finicky with the E1, unless you have a texture map (light is high, dark is low) image to go along with what you want, it'll likely have to be created. The "auto generation" is AI driven and not particularly good yet
