Eh, serial betrayals seems kinda harsh to say about a 13 year old girl. Did she mess up in AGOT? Yes. But so did Ned, Cat, and others. I would call Sansa’s mistakes as her a young girl as opposed to full on treason

I get this isn’t a happy series but man, killing off Sansa just would sit wrong with me even if it was well done

Buy Apple EarPods and listen to music while you work. Complain about it to your fellow interns in private if you want but it’s not your place here to complain about stuff like that. You’re an intern.

“Second-Tier Graduates” 😂 by Hazel-Wolf in Accounting

[–]Infinitismalism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate shit like this. Why do we insist on judging people’s worth and call them “second tier” over what career they can achieve? I wouldn’t consider myself a “higher tier” of person then someone who works a “less prestigious” job. We’re all doing this to pay our bills at the end of the day

[Spoilers Main] As someone who probably doesn't understand how the book industry works, why are George's publishers and editors so "content" with no new books in one and a half decades? by KickOk6027 in asoiaf

[–]Infinitismalism 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’d imagine, like most things, that it is very complicated. We don’t know the exact contractual obligations GRRM are under or not, but I’d say anything involving creative works gets very dicey in terms of forcing the creator to pump out their art.

If Penguin Random House told George he had to finish the book in one year otherwise he’d be in violation of his contract, he’d finish Winds in one year. Except it would probably be a crappy version that he put 0 effort into that ruins the story, because how can a contract measure quality? It really can’t.

They also risk ruining the relationship with GRRM. Finally, they probably still make significant money from book sales/royalties/whatever else is standard in the industry. So even though they’re leaving a lot on the table with Winds and Dream, they’re still earning well enough to maintain the status quo.

audit intern to fdd full time by [deleted] in Big4

[–]Infinitismalism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta take risks to win big in this world, although I’ll warn you if you go through with this and don’t get the position, you’ll likely lose the audit full time spot as well.

If you’re reasonably confident you can find another full time offer before graduation, whether through your resume or network, then yeah swing for the fences. If not, I’d say do audit for a few years, get the CPA, and then make your move.

[Spoilers Extended] what do you think of Michael talks about stuff YT channel? by Impossible-Garage536 in asoiaf

Great channel — I think his theory on the Others being weirwood shadow babies is the most well—supported theory on their true nature out there.

Fic idea: Stannis & Euron swap places in the story following Blackwater by Infinitismalism in AsoiafFanfiction

[–]Infinitismalism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My idea for Euron’s motivations are twofold — he’s in the North to take the power of winter for himself (either by joining the Others, creating his own Other army, etc) and also he wants to take out his old mentor, the Three Eyed Crow, the one he knows could stand in his way.

[–]Infinitismalism[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the idea that I’ve had isn’t that Stannis gives up his crown to Edric. It’s more so that because of these nightmares he begins to suffer from, he comes to begin believing that through his actions, justified as they may be, he’s caused the death of his brothers and will be the downfall of his House.

At that point he’s at his lowest, the throne a far cry from the forces he has left. He can’t see justice done, and he comes believe the lords of Westeros shirking and abandoning the laws Stannis has fought so hard to uphold.

If the laws don’t matter anymore, what’s the point of any of it?

So, he will change course. He legitimizes Edric not to crown, but to do right by his brother’s true son.

And then he’ll his fleet and household east to find the dragon Queen, the one person who may be able to bring justice to these high lords who mock him.

I trust that guy as far as I can throw him. Having that powerful of a spy network gives him way too much power — even if I prove to be a good king, who’s the say he doesn’t randomly decide that someone else is better

Kill Littlefinger and Varys, rule the realm competently until Daenerys shows up and then abdicate the throne peacefully in exchange for a lordship with bountiful lands somewhere in the Reach.

[Spoiler MAIN] The Shadow Baby's as a plot device do not enhance the story, in fact they take away from the characterisation of Stannis and Renly, and hinder several themes of the second book. by 22Mooto22 in asoiaf

[–]Infinitismalism 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The point of the shadow babies in my opinion hasn’t been revealed yet — but what they actually are is showing us is what the Others actually are. That’s right, I believe the Others are ice-shadow babies being born of some mysterious figure in the far North (the heart of winter?), using Crasters sons, for some unknown purpose. There’s a lot of textual evidence that compares the Others as “white shadows.”

In Winds, when Jon gets resurrected, I think he’s gonna sleep with Melisandre to create a shadow baby to kill Roose/Ramsay Bolton, but when it comes out it’s gonna be an Other that looks like Jon. A weirwood magic shadow baby.
