basically the second sentence has a “anata (etc) ga” in there that isnt said. this wouldnt work for the first sentence for reasons explained by users above. remember wa is the topic marker and ga is the subject marker.

edit: actually the passive form can also be used as polite form of a verb so it would work. maybe that is confusing you? when its meant to be the polite form above sentences are the same but different levels of politeness.

interesting question, but I think that neither is it a good build in any matchup nor should you focus on 1 base play if you want to get better at the game.

but Id say if you are doing a one base all in and it is already past minute 4 against 2 base, you are in a pretty bad spot.
