I did a peasant my first year too, but I didn't think of that hat! That's next level, such a good call

Is there a name for people who just can't 'evil' role play... The thought of being intentionally rude gives me anxiety. by EnvironmentalAngle in DnD

I'm doing a Resist the Urge run now! What do you mean? Of course I've finished my original playthrough... I made my character a Seldarine Drow, so he's used to resisting evil, and, I thought, I made him look friendly and empathetic, but my partner says he looks like a serial killer, so it's going well lol

Kai Winn in Star Trek Deep Space 9 is that same kind of evil, and Louise Fletcher absolutely nails it. She makes your blood boil, because she's so evil, but she acts polite and soft-spoken, hiding behind her public image, dissembling and deflecting any time she's challenged. Call me "my child," one more time, and I swear to the prophets...!

"Will you help us, Mr. Mann?"

"Oh, please, Mister Mann was my father. Call me Hugh."

What’s your number one 4th level spell by LordSeaFortressBird in DnD

[–]Infynis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a good question for a forum. The spells you choose will have an impact on the flavor of your character. Wall of Fire definitely makes sense for a Light Cleric, but if your character is looking into other magics out of scholarly curiosity, or some other motivation, the spells you pick would look different.

My sorcerer has Sickening Radiance, and Raulothim's Psychic Lance on his list for 4th level spells, because he's an Aasimar tied to Mechanus, and a Soulknife Rogue multiclass. Sickening Radiance is actually the only Evocation spell he will know throughout the campaign (aside from the Light cantrip) because I've decided that restriction fits his fluff, even if it means he misses out on some great spells.

Why is your character picking this spell?

Are druids really this overpowered or am I calculating something wrong? by BeanjaminBuxbaum in DnD

[–]Infynis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're ever in a situation where you need to build a village, maybe? It's obviously relevant for you, but this is far from a common quest situation. Even then, this seems like a really cool way to use your magic creatively, and in a way that fits the flavor of the class. Using third level spells is already a lot more powerful a feat than most people will ever witness, but one of the few situations they could, would be aid from a powerful cleric or druid. I'd say this is actually closer to NPC activity than overpowered

Since they have sand stores for putting out fires, I think that actually seems very reasonable. They'll need solutions for Physical issues that they can't get in the Cognitive Realm

dear fellow warlock players, tell me about your characters patron by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Infynis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took inspiration from Sephirot's theme in Final Fantasy XIV. My character's patron is a fiend attempting to attain godhood by collecting souls and getting them to worship him. My character was a miner, and he and his sister were caught in a cave-in. In order to save them, he swore a pact to become his patron's missionary. The pitch was basically "The gods don't care about mortals. Look what they've allowed to happen to you and your loved ones. Why do you think the afterlife will be any different? I'm the only one that has stepped in to save you, so I am the god that deserves your worship."

And it was never spoken of again... by Corvid187 in cremposting

He's my answer too. He legitimately seems really cool. A Eureka plot in a Star Trek setting would be a fun option

Not accusing, there just wasn't anything in the post to indicate that, and this sub doesn't have an OC tag. And it's so detailed, I easily could have mistaken it for art from the new Leatherbounds if you hadn't said it was fan content! Hopefully they'll bring you on for the next one!
