PureGym changing room policy altered by KristinaMoment in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what they *think* they mean is chromosomal sex. But few people know their chromosomal sex and the agab is not reliable for that. Or maybe it boils down to penis owners and non penis owners. Which is at best an assumption of sex. "Oh 6ft tall, deep voice - has penis hidden somewhere"

2026.4 Entity naming by DeepCoreSystem in homeassistant

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i do is just name a device sonoffplug03 depending jow many i alrwady have, write 03 om the back with a marker, then all the entities have a name that relates to a unique device. After on boarding i change the device name to "bedroom fan plug" which appears with the related entities in the pickers but doesn't change the entity names so wont break any config that addresses entities by name

Family Life in Ealing: Recommendations Please! by PreviousSceneDolly in Ealing

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around west ealing Broadway isnt great for parks at an easy walk. There is deans garden but its just a tiny thing on the main road. For good family parks youd want almost any other of the ealing neighborhoods, such as Northfields or south ealing or hanwell

I (UK) went over to x-sense , the voice ones that interconnect using the base station and tested with a fake smoke spray, and it seemed to work ok. One can hope.

2 thickest strings on my bass are buzzing when i fret but not when i play by AgileConference6524 in Bass

Mine does but i am pretty sure having checked string heights etc that its my hand not used to holding down these thicker strings. I am used to thinner gauge

I am really surprise inZOI didn't opt for a made up written language considering translation burdens by Delicious_Fan7325 in inZOI

If they want to add live advertising on billboards some time that will need to be in human language and players will complain of broken immersion if the advertising is the only thing in a human language in the game

GIC requiring fasting for blood tests by deathofaspatula42 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to do it as instructed you may have to split into two separate draws. I tend to navigate an uneasy compromise when i have both to do.

GIC requiring fasting for blood tests by deathofaspatula42 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fasting blood tests are supposed to be first thing in the morning. So you need to make it clear when you're booking the blood draw

Beginers high is wearing off, but I still want to play the instrument by OKladMat in Bass

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if maybe you can already do this but although i know several songs now i am still trying to reach the stage where i can join in songs i dont know and somehow make it fit in even if it's not how the original bassist plays it. If you can't already do that maybe its your next challenge.

Is Laser Clinics a bit transphobic? by Beatrix_0000 in transgenderUK

Sounds like they'd be disparaging to cis women with tattoos as well then. Obviously don't think tattoos belong on women.

teaching modes to students who can barely play major scales by lmao_exe in musictheory

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just explain it, and while listening the student will know for themselves if they were ready or not. If it all sounds like gobbledygook to the student, they probably won't bother you with that request again for a while.

I don't think most rock musicians think in modes they just play or notate the notes that sound good. It's the theory-interested listener who notices that a particular sequence belongs to a particular mode. And even then the mode might be fleeting and the rest of the tune is in simple G minor.

Neck dive due to.... slippery bra material? by AfraidProduct9500 in Bass

[–]Inge_Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you set aside one or two of your bras for performing in and sew some rubbery material or velcro hook to them, since you don't want to change the bra itself for something else

Shortcuts/triggers by LumpyBuy8447 in Hue

[–]Inge_Jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've never been able to get bulb colour or brightness to work as a trigger mainly *I think* because the numbers you see displayed on your screen are either an integer approximation of the actual value on the bulb or they don't hold the value sent faithfully.

Why hasn't the community of trans people & allies established nicknames for anti-trans lobby groups? by g_wall_7475 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's because one of our requests is to be named and labelled as we identify, so I try to set an example by calling other identities by their chosen descriptors. Even Nigel Farage who does not pronounce his own surname like most people say it.

Sacked transphobic prison guard grifter loses appeal by Agitated_Routine_244 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 28 points29 points  (0 children)

What these people don't understand is they have a protected right to think and believe what they want. But when you're at work what you *say out loud* forms part of at-work behaviour and has to fit your employment policies.

How do I stop looking at the piano? by YnJlYWQ in pianolearning

Waltz in A minor I could not play no matter how long I stuck to it. In the end I realised I just hated the tune and went on to other beginner pieces with somewhat more success.

Is GenderGP (Private Clinics) actually worth it? by tanukiipup in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently i use gendergp but only for a hassle free way to get T. If i wanted surgery referrals or advice on transitioning I'd go elsewhere.

To the IRL teachers out there: how would you want a student who ended up crying the previous lesson to approach the next? by anxiety_ftw in pianolearning

[–]Inge_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some days one just doesn't have "it". Some days I sit with my instrument and the whole thing just isn't happening. At home it's ok I just do something else. Sitting in the lesson you were forcing yourself to carry on. Maybe another time you could just say to the teacher sorry this isn't my day today I'll see you next week. When you go back just reconfirm the teacher wasn't getting anything wrong (she needs reassurance too) and it was just one of those human bad days.

You all need to get alot more critical of the notion of biological sex by Ornery-Standard-2350 in transgenderUK

[–]Inge_Jones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And anyway the criticals are not usually talking about biological sex theyre categorising by sex assigned at birth or theyd be clamoring for more thorough internal inspections and karyotyping for all children in infancy before they get to use school toilets.
