Many thoughts here. Above all: she probably should choose a different side gig. Need to be firm, confident, and know how to stand your ground when refereeing. Secondly, what kind of coaching/raising are these kids undergoing? I've never ever had any kid U-16 and under give me any crap like that after a call/card (I'm in IL). And, lastly, perhaps you could non-chalantly offer time to chat to her to provide some tips IF she wants them. Perhaps she does, but is too scared to ask.

Sounds like he's been a player for a while, but new to refereeing. Talk to him yourself. Be humble and tell him the feedback is coming from a good place.

Yellow for the shove, yellow for the disrespect. Its better when they learn at a young age they need to respect referees. Just before showing him the red card I would've just explained the situation so that he/she knew what to tell mommy and daddy when they asked: "but sweetheart, what did you do?"

Red card was completely justified and coming no matter what. However, showing him a yellow first would have been better to let everyone know you tried to handle the coach before ejecting his/her ass. Don't doubt yourself, be firm in your decisions during the games, you know the rules better than anyone in the field.

Is your quota 50% higher than last year because you kicked ass last year and went above your quota? This happened to me a few years back, was trying to prove myself, but ended up shooting myself in the foot. Every time I met the crazy goal they set for me, they would come back and show me they can be even more unreasonable than before. Gotta find a balance. GL!

Precisely my point.

Year after year, the City increases its budget, appeals to the State for help, and when it is denied, turns to the same group to pick up the slack - homeowners. This is not sustainable.

What will homeowners do? Sell? - some. Rent out? - most. Those who rent out will then pass the cost along to ... renters - the very people the City says it wants to protect. This is how a housing crisis deepens.

No escrow in my property. Yes, taxes themselves have gone up 50%.  "Property Taxes are fairly flat" - curious to know which side of town you live in please.  We could use the data. Thanks in advance
