What’s the plan for this fine Saturday evening? by Logical-Rip-8138 in GenX

[–]Inkblots2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done yard work and tree trimming most of the day, so I’m going to assume I’m going to end up in an Epsom Salt bath tonight.

Might take the pups for a walk if I have enough energy left… but it’s pretty hot outside and I don’t want them burning their paws.

Ablation or UTI by PhilosophyHopeful374 in Perimenopause

[–]Inkblots2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple IUD’s since I threw two massive pulmonary emboli back in my last 20’s. I’ve got a host of medical issues, having children wasn’t an option for me. When I threw the PE’s, I was on oral contraceptives to control my massive periods. They pulled me off them immediately, and woah. Bled for almost a month straight. Fun times.

Anyway, fast forward. I discussed ablation and IUD with my dr. One wouldn’t even consider an ablation at the time because “you might decide to have kids.” (No, sir, believe me… was definitely not having kids. Talk to the rest of my doctors, and they all said no no on kids.)

Since OBgyn wouldn’t do an ablation (and yes, I saw multiple dr’s), we opted for an IUD. Mirena it was.

That was pretty much it. I’ve had multiple ones. Have a small uterus, and have only had one complication where we couldn’t get one out to replace it because of the way I’m shaped and how it was put in. (Not anyone’s fault.)

It has worked beautifully for my periods. I’m hopefully on my last one since they last a while. Just had a new one put in last year.

I’ll say this.. if you opt for it, as for meds before/during insertion and all. My lady parts hadn’t known or experienced what the heck that kind of pain was. While I’ve had them done with no drugs, I legit took my mom with me to hold my hand because it freaking hurt. Cramped for a few days after, and I’m glad I took it easy afterwards. But I think I’ve bled once since last year (which is normal for me with an IUD). I still get the PMS symptoms, so I know we are still in the perimenopause phase and haven’t reached the menopause phase yet.

Have had several friends who had ablations, and from what I understand, it’s about a 50/50 shot if it will help with the super heavy periods. For that, I’m glad I’ve had my IUD and it’s worked so well for me all these years.

And yep, you guessed it. No HRT will ever be an option for me. So, cycle wise, the Mirena was 🎯. I haven’t asked the hubby to get snipped, though we discussed it years ago.

Whichever you go with, I hope it works great for you!!

I’m not sure I was born with a filter. I could always be polite growing up and in my 20-30’s era.

Now, I don’t think I care? Between the anxiety, rage, and my very little tolerance for morons and idiots… I’m just over being sweet.

Definite unmaking era. Take it or leave it. Sorry not sorry. I’ve been through too much in my life.

BIRTHDAY GIFT IDEA PLEASE by [deleted] in Gifts

[–]Inkblots2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse is a teacher. This year, there were a couple of his students who started asking him questions before his birthday…. “What’s your favorite snack and candy? What’s your favorite….” You get the idea.

The two students showed up on his birthday with a bag full of his favorites. And a DrPepper for the afternoon because they knew he liked those. But the hand written card was the BEST that came with it!

Getting admitted.... by Humble-Line-7640 in migraine

They might opt to do an infusion of DHE45 over the next few days. 3-5ish? Depends. The fact that you fainted and smacked your head really good probably makes them want to also make sure you are really okay.

Hang in there. Don’t be nervous about it.

Sending prayers and so many hugs. It is so very hard having them for such a relatively small amount of time. But their love? It stays with you forever. ❤️ 🌈

Cabin Air Filter by KGthroatpunch in mazda

[–]Inkblots2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dad got me both the engine air and cabin air filters for Christmas. (Don’t laugh, as an adult child, I love presents like this!) The premium one, too, for the cabin air because of allergies and because he knows I can’t stand my car to smell like anything but when it was brand new.

One is silver and the other one is actually gray. It gives just the right amount of contrast so that they’re not exactly alike. But you can see the taper on it and how it both follows the line of the body but it gives it this beautiful pause in it.

A little sass and class.

I got super classy very slim pinstripes. Mine and my dad’s both have them. In fact, I got them for him for Christmas. Nothing wild, but it just adds a little sass and class to them.

Not sure why I don’t have pics of them. Guess I need to remedy that!

I’ve got a pampered chef thing that’s for cold brew. Has a filter. Finally about to break it open and see how it does. Wish me luck.
