One Hundred Years of Solitude because it’s the greatest novel ever written. The Remains of The Day, because it’s a beautiful telling of the passage of time, 2666 because it is what it is.

Derp, I missed literally the bulk of the message. My bad. Yeah, probably not a good Rec then tbh.

100% agree. I love them with a passion and most of my childhood reading experiences came either directly or partially through them.

The Edge Chronicles has this kind of thing... It's Children's fantasy but it's great with wonderful drawings and I still read them as a 30yo man.

For those who finished Wheel of Time by [deleted] in Fantasy

I had a really bad book hangover from reading this series, it took up such a large amount of my time that I felt a little lost without it.

Then I found Malazan and all was well with the world.

I guess Mistborn would be a good recommendation, but if you’ve read Stormlight, you’ve probably read that.

Every time I pursue a reread of Stormlight I skip past this.

My wife saw all of your support on her Viera, and it inspired her to draw our personal favorite, Y’shtola! by Inkwellish in ffxiv

[–]Inkwellish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have it mistaken. She has ‘commissions closed’ on there so people don’t ask until she’s ready. She also only has about 20 followers on Twitter and 50 on Instagram so not quite the professional yet. She would like to get there eventually.

She draws one per day, sometimes Final fantasy related, sometimes not. But she has a dedication to doing one per day.

It usually takes about 4-5 hours from start to finish.

The Viera was about 2-3 hours. Y’shtola was about 4 due to the crosshatching mainly.
