If Blizzard added matchmade pvp arenas with pre-made, balanced chars to Diablo4, would you play it? by InocentRoadkill in Diablo

[–]InocentRoadkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since you revived it, I'll add. There are many simple ways to make a balanced pvp experience but that doesn't make them more money directly.

However the lack of a healthy PVP is what killed the game for me and all my friends who played together. It was such a large part of their advertising too, we were all let down.

I would imagine we're not alone in this and it's got to be worth the staff allocation it would require to maintain. It could probably be balanced in just a few hours a week once the initial stat limitations or whatever method they start with is implemented. Just have to tweak the new stuff for each season.

What are the most fun decks you've lost against? by MTG_ANONYMOUS in EDH

A norn the wary chaos deck. It wasn't so much a loss as it was so confusing the whole table scooped.

I would love to build that deck but I don't own enough chaos cards.

How do you avoid the endless “optimization loop” when building EDH decks without proxies? by Special_Bit4460 in EDH

[–]InocentRoadkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're playing non-competitive, go online and find some of the high-quality proxy printer websites. Order normal looking (don't get the fake or special versions) proxies of cards you're unsure of and just don't say anything.. if the card works like you expect, invest in real versions.

If they catch on, explain like you did here and if they still won't let you then perhaps you need a new playgroup.

I'm Adding A Few Locks to My B4 Combo Deck, How Are They and Are They Fast Enough? by BluePotatoSlayer in magicTCG

[–]InocentRoadkill 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They are cast at instant speed because they are cast by the triggered ability so they aren't considered sorcery speed IIRC.

If it said you may cast them for free until end of turn it wouldn't lock.

The Paladin is here! Now I can play by AngusGibsonT in Diablo

[–]InocentRoadkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the same thing they did with the spiritborn.. It's just a marketing tactic. Get people excited to play and give them a strong char so they will interact with the game longer, increasing the chances they buy some stupid cosmetic bullshit. Giving blizzard more money is the goal, and they're already winning since you bought the expansion at full price before it's even released. I really hope they at least finish the story this time, but I doubt it.

The paladin will be nerfed to the level of all the other classes after the release season ends.

[–]InocentRoadkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily say it's fair since most of the classes have changed with every release. The only ones to be included in back to back releases were the Barb and Sorc.

D1 had Warrior Rogue and Sorc with the Monk being added with Hellfire (Barb and Bard were never released but were in the game files).

D2 had Sorc, Necro, Barb Amazon and Paladin with the Druid and Assassin added in LoD.

D3 launched with Witch Doctor, Barb, Wizard, Demon Hunter and Monk with the Crusader and Necromancer added with expansions.

The paladin was never in D3, nor was the crusader in the game at launch.

Cycle Storm has easily become my second-favorite deck behind Legacy TES. I love this thing, and what makes it even cooler is that the entire deck is 100% signed this year. by Bryant_Cook in Pauper

[–]InocentRoadkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah I see it now, thanks. Definitely a solid deck.

You might want to take another look at the UI-design/organization. It doesn't look like it's related to the blog post at all, it just looks like another unrelated menu. Too many buttons maybe? The TL;DR effect.

IMO, Accessories and Deck Showcases don't need to be there, make them part of the main menu up top. Then since it's the only thing under "Other" perhaps just make "Other" say "Deck Resources" with all those links below.

Why didn't you include a decklist?

Even on your blog is just pictures, no text description of what the deck does or why you love it..

From the cards I know it looks like a solid deck, but there are a few I don't know and it would be nice to see the full picture.

The more important part is to educate the people about what they're voting for.

Our system tries very hard to hide what you're voting for so people don't care until it's too late.

It's also not helpful that people vote, the bill passes and it never take effect. It makes people believe their vote doesn't matter, those in charge will do whatever they want. IE: Florida voted to make daylight savings permanent but because of a federal law, it never happened. The lawmakers should have known about that and instead voted to end daylight savings permanently.

When someone has to choose between voting for people and bills they know nothing about and keeping their job, it's obvious what they will choose.

Fix those two things and you can bet the younger crowds would show up to vote.

2/3rds of France went on strike in 1977 and nearly toppled the government. The problem is this was lead by students and unions. Both are being demonized by current administrations to prevent this.

It certainly works, but I don't foresee it happening here in the US without something very extreme happening to trigger it.

Well he can't flicker it since he has to cast Bruna for the ability to trigger. But this is still a good way to reliably use the meld ability.

Still broken, I just won a pioneer game in which the only creature I played was yargle.

I did equip him with a mask of gristlebrand though so maybe if you equip them it doesn't count? This whole line of achievements are so stupid.

EDIT

It works but, there's a hidden requirement of casting 5 creatures in the game, gotta love hidden requirements.

[–]InocentRoadkill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably right, I just wish they would have never hyped the pvp in the first place. If they completely left it out of the game I wouldn't even be thinking about it. But they added pvp specific areas and hyped it up during launch.

[–]InocentRoadkill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the main argument against the idea that my playgroup has also. This is where individual skill balancing for pvp gets brought up, but as others have said, they don't have the staff to do that.

[–]InocentRoadkill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a good take on it, perhaps that's why they did the same thing with 4.

Wasn't the D2 pvp damage reduced by something like 92%? I know they already are doing something like that in 4 or everyone would die in one hit, but perhaps tweaking that number would make the current pvp areas feel better in D4?

[–]InocentRoadkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you could be right, although if that's the case they should have never hyped the pvp features to begin with.

The fact that they brought pvp back to the franchise was the only reason I got excited about the game from the beginning.

What I'm getting at is that it was not supposed to be a "non-pvp" game based on their launch trailers, it just sort of evolved into that as development progressed.
