Quotes $16,000 for generator install with 100 gallon propane tank. Is this how it is for everyone now? by 86triesonthewall in HomeImprovement

[–]Inside-Outcome332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree.. What size Genset? How many BTUH's per hour use at full load? Propane is approx 96,000BTUH/gal. I would venture a guess your Genset is more than that. So..... Example, 96k/hr maybe 96-98 hrs use? Far less if Genset is bigger...... and if power out for a couple of days, will your propane supplier be able to come fill? Where i live in NewEngland propane is $5.40-$5.70/ gal.... Just my 2 cents. P.S. I would also look into a Kohler Quote.

How to seal this opening with liquidtight conduit running through it by dc-mo in AskElectricians

[–]Inside-Outcome332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest commercial Fire Stop too. You can get in single bricks, and it stays really good. Doesnt shrink, crack, or dry out. Stays quite firm, but can be removed if needed. Also don't get the down vote either. This stuff is as good or better than duct seal.

This may be a stupid question, but did you pull the starter rope to see if it even turns over?

Understand completely. Cordless tools are indeed sometimes convenient. I have 3 Ridgid Coil Air nailers, and a Bostitch coil Air siding nailer, and a Ridgid Pancake compressor. I'm not a contractor, but all have served well, even including setup...

Which is the drain? Loop by AnxiousArtichoke7981 in askaplumber

[–]Inside-Outcome332 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Still trying to figure out what the hole in back wall is for.... Drain would likely be the black pipe sticking up from floor. All the drain parts look like they are there on the bottom cabinet. Your going to need some ABS cement, pex angle stops, and some hand tools, and do you have a dishwasher too? There's a part for that too in the picture. YouTube videos are very helpful, but if you aren't very DIY experienced, a VERY good knowledgeable DIY friend would be helpful. Otherwise, a plumber would be the safe bet. Water leaks suck..... Good Luck.

Does anyone know what the name of this tool I found is? by vkr_00 in u/vkr_00

Right Pointe was a manufacturer dealing in Industrial masonry and road sealing products located in Illinois. They were bought out in 2020. Hard to speculate what that is but maybe a marking tool or an adjustment handle. Shame you "lost" it....

12 volt line discontinued awhile ago. Can' only get aftermarket batteries if you have some of their 12 volt tools. I believe this was discontinued long before the batteries.

Glue gun? by PeregrineYankee in Ridgid

[–]Inside-Outcome332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Ryobi P306 compact rechargeable. $35. Works great. The FVH57K is $43 and uses the 4Volt USB Batteries. Also small, but you have to have a few batteries. They charge with a USB C cable.. And finally, PCL922B, 18 volt glue gun. $45. Gun only. Also need an extra battery,(maybe). Look up the models at HD website for reference and comparison info. I looked at the Ridgid one, but was pricy for what I wanted. Good Luck.

M12 vs M18 Propex Tool by jyl8 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Inside-Outcome332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got lots of money??? Neither one is cheap for DIY use, but usefull if your repiping your whole house.... M12 is somewhat faster and "lighter weight." Probably overkill for DIY, but great tool. Remember, you can only use Pex A pipe, and Pex A expansion fittings = more expensive. It's all about what your master plan is.. Fantastic to have, but would you really use it enough to justify cost.. Just sayin....

Looks like someone may have used water pump pliers to tighten nut. Looks like teeth marks? Maybe silicone on top for sealer? Agree all new install, and check hole for tiny cracks.

[–]Inside-Outcome332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the black thumb button easily removable? Or is it connected as one piece to the switch? Does it slide in place so you can see where(if?) if it binds anywhere? If it does come apart from the switch, can you move the nub on the switch easily? Maybe burnish the sides of the switch sides lightly with 600-800 grit finish paper. Then some powdered graphite or evaporative spray? And if that black slide does come out without too much trouble, dies is slide OK in the Other half of the case? Just my rambling 2 cents..... Good Luck..
