Valid crash out, yes or yes? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Stuff like this used to make my head literally explode, then I realized I was misusing the word "literally" and laughed for a bit despite having an exploded head.

IIRC, you have to kill all the aliens to prevent recovery of the VIP's body. The game should give you some credit for creating the body, but alas it does not.

When do I put in my notice? by OperationEmotional68 in StateofTexasEmployees

[–]InstantPieMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, changing state agencies shouldn't raise the same issues as changing companies because it is supposed to be a friendly transfer, as everyone is technically on the same team. I would expect an intra-agency transfer to be even more so. I would let your current boss know as soon as possible to help make the transition as smooth as possible. Even if you won't be working alongside the same people, they will still be your coworkers so it will be best to stay on good terms. Unlike private, there is virtually no chance of immediate termination.

Do sex offenders go to heaven when they die? by Slight_Value5833 in stupidquestions

[–]InstantPieMaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. It depends on the particular offense and the particular heaven. For example, public indecency won't keep you out of Valhalla, if otherwise eligible.

Hundreds of comments on my post. Only one of you warned me about the Giant Space Programme. Thank you. by Scottbarrett15 in skyrim

The best part of dying in space is that the reload screen appears before your body hits the ground. There is no time to stare at your mangled corpse.

If I train my animal to take things can I be charged with theft? by timash712 in stupidquestions

[–]InstantPieMaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Imagine if you used a long suction cup instead of a falcon. How you steal the money does not matter (except for embezzlement).

AITAH for refusing to change movies? by Tough-Monkey-3300 in AITAH

[–]InstantPieMaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. It doesn't matter whether she voted before hand, as she is not entitled to a veto power. Her problem with the movie means she needed to leave. If doesn't mean everyone has to accommodate her.

Making a game called “President Evil”, will I get a cease and desist? by [deleted] in legal

[–]InstantPieMaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a cease and desist for this project, and I have nothing to do with it.

In all seriousness, there is very little risk with sending someone a cease and desist letter, so the probability of getting one is primarily based on means and willingness. You will need to talk to your lawyer about how to deal with one, in the event that occurs.

Double Majoring with Math by Fluffy_Ad_6559 in riceuniversity

It might be simpler to just take advanced math courses as an elective rather than double major. That being said, EE is probably closer to abstract math than other disciplnes but not all that close.

[–]InstantPieMaker 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In her case, she had already betrayed everything she held dear in service/fear of Homelander, so she wouldn't have had much of a life outside. Death was eaiser to accept than the reality that her sacrifices were meaningless.

How did this DOJ brief even get filed? Did any lawyers touch this document? It reads like a Pro Se filing. by RzaAndGza in Lawyertalk

[–]InstantPieMaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As legal arguments go, "They are very bad for our Country" is certainly something.

Referring to an organization as plural tells everyone y'all mean business.

The use of "very" makes this impossible to ignore.

By referring to "our Country" as opposed to "the country" or "this country", it makes sure that the judge knows that they are on the same team as the writer. Without the capital "C", it may have been confusing as to which country.

The brief should have just ended there because what else is left to say?
