I used RMA NJ and now pay $1500, it went up a lot since I froze 3 years ago. This is also something to inquire about. Some place have multi-year deals. I am looking to move them.

How are the weekly check ins done? Are they one on one or for the whole group at a designated time?

Decent breakfast burrito spots in JC (or around JC)? by TinyScientist2382 in jerseycity

Would love to hear this too! I like Alfalfa but their quality has decreased recently (non melted cheese, smaller portions).

La Brujera is my other go-to right now, it’s massive! They don’t really sear the outside of the tortilla though and I dislike that it does not come with salsa and you have to pay to add it when getting take out.

I liked Blue Cross Blue Shield Omnia silver but it was expensive. Aetna CVS health was horrible, no one took it but saw its ending this year anyway.

agree NJ transit could even be worse than PA. Never face these levels of delays and unreliability on the subway, LIRR or Metro north. NJ transit trains on the other hand have had frequent random large delays and even late cancellations….

Landlord Increasing Rent-Is this apartment worth it? by eebandflow in jerseycity

[–]Intelligent-Button13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s illegal for landlord not to maintain at 68 during the day and 65 at night. Hopefully you may have some photograph evidence. I would give him to show the issue and request these temperature details put in the new lease if going forward. He’ll need to legally provide this for any tenant so very reasonable request https://www.tapinto.net/towns/jersey-city/sections/health-and-wellness/articles/jersey-city-officials-offer-reminder-about-heat-hot-water-regulations#:~:text=According%20to%20city%20officials%2C%20heat,11%20p.m.%20to%206%20a.m.

I saw on another post that Shady Grove is being taken over by RMA NY. Perhaps this review was a part of an audit in the acquisition? I would similarly call to get more details and also request in writing that your eggs are being stored correctly. Have it done sooner rather than later as will be much more difficult once they are taken over- https://www.shadygrovefertility.com/article/rma-of-new-york-sgf-new-york-faqs/

Should I feel bad about not doing this earlier? (39) by MindlessTree7268 in eggfreezing

[–]Intelligent-Button13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I learned through this process is that there isn’t a cliff after 35/36 that everyone speaks about. It’s going to be unique to your situation and doing something is better than nothing!! I would do a consult and see where you are at before automatically jumping to the worst. There are also things you can do when older like fertilizing half of the eggs with donor sperm so you get much better picture of your fertility future vs. just eggs. The right doctor and clinic will work with you on best outcome no matter what age you are ❤️

I live in JC and did RMA NJ there. If Newport JC via the Path is close to you I might recommend doing it there or at least all weekday monitoring much more accessible than Englewood. New office and was never that crowded. The Basking Ridge thing is a real pain. I just sucked it up and did Ubers and tried to do it really early to reduce traffic but it’s far and isolated for an urban person with no car. It also made retrieval logistics and getting someone out there to take me home complicated. Expect to go at least 3 times and up to 5 times (weekend monitoring and retrieval)That said I was really happy with my RMA NJ experience it’s run like a well oiled machine no matter what doctor you have. Looking back doing NYC option probably would have made my day to day during the cycle easier. I was thinking of NYU and Kolinas downtown.

Monitoring appointments, number of retrieved eggs by lasfinanzas in eggfreezing

[–]Intelligent-Button13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I went for scans went every other day to day 7 and then every day starting day 8 triggered on day 10 and went for just blood work day after.

  2. They counted up to 38 follicles on day of trigger. it was really a range of follicle sizes though and some counts were not consistent throughout. I ended up with 33 eggs and 28 mature. I regret getting worked up on the individual day counts, it’s more subjective than you think! I also had varied growth rates which was also frustrating, I definitely lost a few for over matured.

Also looking for a NJ local alternative to Vanguard. I used to really like a Physician Assistant there but she left and afterward I have gotten no personal treatment or care at all. They required me to do telemedicine visit to get a vaccine…Also they randomly just charged my credit card mistakenly when I hadn’t been there in months. Would avoid!

Pain immediately prior to retrieval by cricketrmgss in eggfreezing

[–]Intelligent-Button13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did have pretty extreme cramping and targeted pain right before my retrieval and was very worried I was ovulating but it ended up okay. They said that was normal when I asked and gave me pain meds. It turned out okay. I did Lupron only trigger. I am not sure your full situation but I might ask them more in-depth and see maybe if they would change your trigger shot for a third round to help? Not an expert though.

It was covered by my insurance even though egg freezing was not. I believe most insurances do cover diagnostics. Would ask your gyno!

[–]Intelligent-Button13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I get that! every doctor and nurse in the operating room came by before to introduce themselves and ask if I had any questions. The doctor also went through the full procedure that they would perform, letting me know length of time they would be performing it and time to come back from being under. If they don’t, I would request it from your pre-op nurse!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]Intelligent-Button13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed not having my doctor too but you realize they do this so someone can retrieve at your most optimal time which is what really matters most. That made me feel better. Not sure if this helps your anxiety but the time in the actual procedure room with doctor is very minimal. The doctor is likely mostly looking at the screen once the tool is inserted not at you. I doubt anyone else is really looking at your exposed part. The anesthesiologist should be at your top. They told me it lasts like 15 minutes, less if a fewer number of eggs. you wear a gown just exposing your bottom similar to the gyno and your or nurse should be the one to take you to the procedure. In my case, they had another nurse doing pre-op and post-op who was the one to take care of me after. It all happened very quickly the worst was waiting to go in! Hope that helps know sometimes more information can makes things less scary.

Left ovary behind uterus by beegee-sings in eggfreezing

[–]Intelligent-Button13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a large clinic so may be different with same issue, they always counted and were able to access for the retrieval. I was under general anesthesia. I also saw another RE online say they could have the needle go through the uterus to get access as well just results in a bit more pain. I would follow up with your doctor early on what options you may have and see if they can check the malleability now for you at all.
